Because the states thought it would be good to pool their resources, since weather in one state might end up in another state in a few minutes, or a few days.

because im trying to figure why its called the Obama sequester, when both republicans and democrats agreed to it, and it came into existence because of a refusal to lift the debt ceiling.

No he doesn't!

0bama wants historically, astronomically high, trillion dollar debt ceiling raises, because he is the trillion dollar deficit king.

No other president has spent like 0bama, he is historic. His results for spending all those trillions is historic too, historically ineffective. Only 0bama could add $6 trillion to our debt in four years, and actually have a everything be worse. Yes sir, 0bama is historic.

It's called his sequester because it is his. He demanded that it be included in the budget act, he even threatened to veto the act if his sequester was taken out.

Ah, so typical of Democrats, wanting to purposefully put people in harm's way. That's exactly what they want to do. Now they want to furlough the NWS. Guess the feds think they have a better way of informing us about the weather since they think they're experts on finance, job growth, and foreign policy. (And, by the way, they aren't.)

You still have yet to answer my question, didn't house republicans refuse to raise the debt ceiling unless they got spending cuts? yes or no?

but the sequester was agreed to by republicans and only came because of a refusal to raise the debt ceiling.

Cut the military budget in half. It would still be much larger than any other countries. And that would solve a lot of $$ problems.

Hurricanes - You know they are coming way in advance
Tornadoes - You only get a warning and even then there are never evactuations because you never know when or where it will strike......even with the "warning".

Lot's of faux anger in this thread.
