How would you know that the hurricanes are coming if you aren't told about them?
National Weather Service is not the only service in the world tracking Hurricanes. Just get the information from somewhere else. It's not like they just appear in the US out of nowhere.
The local news services gets info from the weather bureau don't they? Why would other countries weather bureaus be willing to provide this service to the US for free?
Obama wants the same the debt ceiling raise that every other president got before him. This sequester does not exist, if the republicans would have raised a clean debt ceiling without asking for a ransom. Why would Obama propose a sequester in the first place, if the debt ceiling would have been raised without attachments to it?
So the fact that Obama, who in 2008 said that raising the debt ceiling would be unpatriotic, flipped his position and wanted to raise the debt ceiling without any spending cuts is okay with you?
The sequester would not exist, if Obama had been willing to entertain talk of spending cuts. Why would anyone who believes in fiscal responsibility agree to raising the debt ceiling without reducing spending?
Ah, so typical of Democrats, wanting to purposefully put people in harm's way. That's exactly what they want to do. Now they want to furlough the NWS. Guess the feds think they have a better way of informing us about the weather since they think they're experts on finance, job growth, and foreign policy. (And, by the way, they aren't.)
It is indeed typical of Democrats to put American lives at risk for their own political agenda. Democrat Gov. Childs did that in 1992 with Hurricane Andrew, just as Democrat Gov. Blanco did with Huricane Katrina. If it will score them a couple of cheap political points, Democrats will gladly put other American lives in danger.
