You might want to think again. But I do agree. Opposition to SSM is anti freedom. Why shouldn't I have the freedom to have a legal civil marriage to my long term partner? Why should the state have the ability to limit my freedom to marry, the person I choose, with no compelling state interest?
There's definitely name calling on both sides.

The bolded is a legal question. Whether the standard is 'rational' or 'compelling' interest is eventually up to the Supreme Court. Obviously, there are individuals and interest groups that believe the bans pass muster and some courts, though you disagree, agree with opponents.

Thanks for reminding us of the true definition of an anti-Semite: someone that Jews don't like.

And even circuit courts have found that there is no compelling state interest to deny SSM.

Protip: Not agreeing with Isreal isn't anti-Semitism.

Don't you know? Not agreeing with NYJew or allowing him to do whatever he chooses in the name of his religion is being anti-Semitic.

At least it will never, ever happen in a Catholic Church. Without the approval of the Catholic Church, what is the point of marriage anyway?

They may call it marriage, but it's really not.

Until SSM is legal in every state, YES.

If you don't like it, don't open the thread.

Who cares? Not everyone is Catholic, not every marriage ceremony is done in a Catholic church. You don't even need a church to be legally married in this country.

...Because the Catholic CHurch or any religious entity does not have a monopoly on marriage?
