St.Paul is very much as well.

Edit: and when we talk about "liberal states"...most all of them are only liberal within the densely populated metro areas anyway.

Califirnia is the poster boy for Liberalism....but yet Socal is as hardcore conservative as it gets.

I think Illinois will be the next state to legalize it. I just think the idea of Iowa and Minnesota having it legal will also increase the votes (though Iowa's was from a court decision, not a vote). They will not want to be perceived as more socially backwards than two smaller Midwestern states.

It's Illinois though, so their government will always be worse than ours.

Yes.
Unfortunately Los Angeles County, San Diego County, San Louis Obispo County and Santa Barbara County have voted for Obama on the last two presidential elections
You don't know what you're talking about.

That's nice, but they're in the minority.

Not the extreme minority...the fact remains... SoCal is much more liberal than Norcal.

NorCal is very liberal, even far norcal, as in Humboldt county. More than 60% voted no on prop 8 and we are a very rural county with a low population of only 128,000 people. I was actually surprised at how many voted no, since we have a majority of our population being old time families of loggers, cattle men and farmers, I expected less no's and more yes's. Minorities are truly minorities here, there is not a large gay population, nor is there a large black, asian or latin population, whites amount to 93% of the total. I love living here. Now for California to get back on track with equality for all of its citizens, Equal Marriage for all.

Still, conservatives and republicans are - thanks God - a minority in LA, SD as well as Santa Barbara.
P.S. don't you worry: sooner or later even Orange County will turn blue :-)
