my kids are doing just fine...

I have a 10, 8 and a 3 year old...so none of these issues have reared their ugly head yet.

So, as of 8:44 AM EST 5/13/2013 my family values are working just fine.

My concern doesn't come from my own personal experiences. Just to clear that up.

Then worry about your own family, and their values. You can't control what other parents teach their children.

S/he said the feds would make ssm legal. I take that to mean congress will pass and a prez will sign a law that forces states to accept ssm. Far-fetched legally and politically.

Neither can you...so stop pandering to the federal government to do so.

The supreme court is the judicial branch of the federal government.

Plus there is the respect for marriage act that is supposed to be reintroduced this session. The bill would repeal DOMA.

I haven't pandered to the feds to do anything with plan B. I personally don't care about plan B, but I'm glad it's available. The average cost of plan B is $45. Where are 15 year olds going to get $45? I know mine didn't have that kind of cash laying around. The had it in their bank accounts, which needed me to access.

Post 315 --- "If enough states pass same sex marriage, then the federal government will act and make it legal in the US."

You really construe that as the Supreme court ?

Repeal of DOMA, which I support, wouldn't make ssm legal in the U.S.

Yes I do. Just like the supreme court (part of the federal government) legalized interracial marriage nation wide in Loving V Virginia.

DOMA is going down, glad you support that. However the time will come when the USSC will make SSM legal nation wide.

I don't believe you construe that as the supreme court. Anyway,

If your prediction about the sc eventually making ssm legal nationally, good. Your confidence is greater than mine.

BTW, in a bizarre way, the more states that adopt ssm, the Less likely the 'compelling' interest standard will be used.

YOU may not consider the supreme court the feds, but I do as they are part of the federal government.

Why do you think that? A state has to show how denying SSM furthers a compelling state interest. That would go for any state no matter how many states have passed it on their own.
