The President has spoken and pledged all possible support, but where is it? The Red Cross, The Salvation Army and teams sent from neighboring states are on the scene working, but FEMA is conspicuous by it's absence. Only talk Mr. President? If Oklahoma was a swing state would it be different?

It takes time for FEMA to get anywhere and that shouldn't be any surprise.
FEMA are not first responders and never were.

So, you think FEMA is about bandages and hospital tents?

The agency said assistance will include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and funding for programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the disaster

Well that's what the FedGov does..get on camera.

But we all know that the Walmart trucks of water will get there days before any government clipboard guys do.

I lived in south Florida when Andrew hit.
Locals were the first responders.
My sister (nurse) joined a group that went down there the next day and we loaded pickup trucks full of water, medical stuff, food, etc. and I believe the day after as well.
Then FEMA showed up and forbid any more locals (non LE that is) from helping or going into the area.

I read the same happened with Katrina.

You know what they say..when seconds count, the government is just days away.
