The Kenyan Government officials' statements and the African newspaper articles span a time period of many years.

Obama's own author bio stated he was born in Kenya for 16 years, and through multiple revisions.
It was an event which shows how widespread a misbelief can become. The difference being that when told that their belief was wrong, they accepted it, but when birthers have been told their belief is wrong, they refuse to accept it. And then they engage in exactly what you have done, pointing to others who've shared their misbelief, to validate their own misbelief.

The STATE of Hawaii is the ONLY authority that can say whether a person was born in the state or not. The ONLY authority has said that President Obama was born in Hawaii. There is NO evidence that the STATE of Hawaii desires to mislead the nation for any reason.

some were mistaken ( the standard ran a retraction of the statement in the very next issue in 2004 ).

some are misrepresentation ( sarah obama has never said obama was born in kenya and when asked specifically she has always maintained that he was born in hawaii )

and at least one is a direct forgery ( the world guides publication website is a doctored screenshot ).

miriam goderich has taken credit for the original mistake:

'Born in Kenya': Obama's Literary Agent Misidentified His Birthplace in 1991 - ABC News

when the bio blurb was carried over and revised it was to promote the agencies association with "dreams from my father", a book that specifically talks about obama being born in hawaii.

Yes, briefly, as the Orson Welles broadcast illustrates.

However, Kenyan Government officials and African newspapers were reporting Obama was born in Kenya over a timespan of many years.

BIG difference.

Yes. The difference being that birthers REFUSE to believe the ONLY authority (the State of Hawaii) qualified to determine if President Obama was born in the State of Hawaii, which the state has affirmed repeatedly, and instead choose to validate their own misbeliefs by citing the misbeliefs of others.

Can't help being skeptical... I'm from Illinois. FOUR of our recent Governors have gone to PRISON for committing illegal acts. So have several other Illinois politicians. We all know very well here in Illinois that state officials are not always honest and ethical.

Combine that with SO many different sources for SO many years stating Obama was born in Kenya, including his own author bio for 16 years, and there really is reasonable doubt.

DC at the Ridge made the statement. If you are confused about what DC said, you'll have to ask DC.
