Your argument against Lebron is based on other people having teams built around them while Lebron simply decided he would do the same thing by just going to a different team.

No one attacked the Lakers for doing it this year with Howard, Steve Nash, and Kobie( they tried to get Chris Paul as well), no one said anything about the NYKs and Mello, or what about the Celtics.

It seems to be that people are pissed at a player for being able to control his own career rather than be controlled by the team that currently held his contract, because team management try to do this all the time.

again, name the players lebron played with in CLeveland and tell me what they have done before and after and then compare them to who Jordan and Kobe and other greats had on their team.
No one attacked them because...

A) Howard was traded. It wasn't his decision to come to L.A.

B) Nash is 60 (and played like he was 70).

C) Kobe's legacy is pretty set in stone, and he's also past his prime.

The Big 3 in Boston were all past their peak when they joined forces. More importantly, none of them carried the burden of expectations the way LeBron does. We're talking about a player who's high school games were broadcast on ESPN. The Chosen One. When a player with the much hype decides to join forces with another elite player (Wade) AND a perennial all-star big man (Bosh) in one of the most blatant examples of collusion in NBA history, it looks lame, sorry. Had LeBron left Cleveland for Chicago or New York, no one would have batted an eyelid.

Howard made the decision to go to L.A. rather than go to Brooklyn or be traded to other places, he had an input in the process.

You are making my point for me, you hate lebron for stupid reasons.

And LOL at "his games were broadcast on ESPN", ESPN always boardcast high school games that involve high prospects or teams that have alot of prospects on them, and that is all sports, not just basketball.

Also, if Lebron had gone to Chicago , he would have then been playing with Derrick Rose, if it had been NYK or the Nets then we dont know what would have happened, the Nets had money, they might have ended up with the same group that is in Miami now or even better.

but again, Why are you ok with Teams going and creating super teams, but not players ?

Howard did not make the decision to go anywhere, Orlando dealt him for the best deal they could find. They're the ones who balked at the Nets offer. Howard had no say.

You're going to argue that LeBron wasn't heavily hyped coming into the league? Okay then.

Dwyane Wade in 2010 was one of the very best players in the NBA. Here's what he and Bosh averaged the year before joining forces with LeBron.

Wade: 26.6 ppg, 6.5 apg, 4.8 apg
Bosh: 24.0 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 51.8 fg%

Wade's numbers in particular are absolutely sick, and that wasn't even his best season! How would joining a crap Knicks team, or a super green Bulls squad garner James the same flak? These clowns clearly and obviously tried to stack the deck in their favor, and everyone saw through it.

2. The scenario you just talked about actually played out and you lost your team anyways, the County didnt pay for renovations and the team left. You got your wish, so how can you blame liberals ?

by your own logic, if liberals had got their way, your team would still be there in a renovated Arena.

And why on earth do you continue this internet persona ?
Being in Seattle, I followed the stadium story fairly closely. KeyArena was actually very good for watching basketball, and many fans said that at the time. Where it fell short was its corporate luxury suites. KeyArena was gutted and completely rebuilt in 1995. We built two more stadiums right around 2000, one for baseball, and one for NFL. The two new stadiums had much superior lux box facilities, and stole all the Sonics corp accounts. As early as 2001, only 6 years after KeyArena opened, Stern was making noises about needing a new NBA stadium in Seattle. Sonics GM said that the team just couldn't make a go of it money-wise in the Key.

Naturally the electorate was not enthused about the prospect of funding a 4th pro sports stadium in less than 10 years. The Mariners stadium had actually been voted down by the people (the state legislature rammed it through anyway), and voters barely approved the NFL stadium, by around 50.8 pct IIRC. So there was no way we were going to approve a new NBA arena.

As for the 'internet persona,' I found it a fresh and clever writing style. What is wrong with having something a little different now and then?

I'm not really a LeBron hater, but the collusion thing is what gripes me too. There was never another NBA team built quite the same way as the Heat. As I put it, they 'jumped the queue.' Where I work, we call that a 'good old boys deal.'

That was the point that prompted me to post the thread. It wasn't to try to inject politics into sports, or sports into politics. It was just an interesting question of whether there might be a markedly different attitude towards 'queue jumping' among different political groups.

My reason for disliking the Heat has nothing to do with party affliation. As a Bulls fan, they're a conference rival and I want the Spurs to kick the shiat out of them.

I never heard any political aspect of this, only that the majority of those polled wanted the Spurs to win. Its due probably to the douche factor of the Heat players.

I guess Harrier means they forced out the Sonics because the people didn't want to pay for a new stadium and they happen to be liberal, then sure, guess Harrier is right about that.
