Besides not every woman should breastfeed. If she is a drug addict or is taking drugs for other reasons then formula is a better option.
I would say digressed. The role of breasts in feeding an infant, and for sexual purposes, are not mutually exclusive.

But in society many see women nursing and get turned on. Yes that is bizarre and breastfeeding is natural but many men like seeing breasts.

Some men get turned on seeing an ankle...or a wrist...or just the shadow of a woman.
Hell....just reading this thread title is enough to turn some off them on.
That's their problem and shouldn't even be a consideration on any aspect of the topic

It's not my choice to say what they should do, it's their choice. Personally I would probably pump or bottle feed but don't have kids so no idea what I would do.
True lactation specialists will not attack anyone for their method of infant feeding. Certainly there are some militants who do so. There is, IMO, no point in pumping and feeding the baby a bottle. It takes twice as much time to feed this way!

Grossed out? Are you kidding me? That's what breasts are for.
As above, there are militants who will severely chastise women for not breast feeding. Most bottle feeding women don't seem to have the same feelings of militancy about their chosen method. Disclaimer: I breast fed one child until 20 months and one until 23 months. The older one would take a bottle for other people but not me, the little one wouldn't take a bottle for anyone, not even a bottle of breast milk.

Well, that's the men's problem then. I breast fed long before these covers that women use now and my kids didn't like getting a blanket thrown over their heads. The little one actually flicked the blanket off when the pastor came to visit. I was discreet, but yeah, it was obvious what I was doing. Just today, a woman nursed a fussy baby in church. I wasn't being a voyeur, I could see her perfectly clearly.

A woman's life isn't always workable around breast feeding, pumps or not. And breast milk only isn't always the best.I don't think anyone else can make the decision and I REALLY don't think some guy in public office or the government in general can.

You can't legislate love either. But nice try Venezuela. I personally don't care what they do but I see a blackmarket in bottles and I'd like to get in on that action.

Are you saying Venezuela is a backward country where the government must step in and mandate laws because they lack education ?

But for some they prefer it. Maybe they like the fact they don't have to show their breast or can feed anywhere or someone else can feed.

Sadly some lactation consultants do attack women when they don't breastfeed. A friend had it happen to her and it upset her. She had her reasons for not breastfeeding.

Not necessarily, but there must be some reason the Venezuelan government is considering it. Maybe they have a high rate of infant mortality, and by that I mean infants who are successfully born but die within the first year of life. As I already said, breast milk provides some essential immune functions to protect the infant while its own immune system is still developing.

I would hazard a guess that if you asked most new mothers if they would or would not do something that will substantially help their child to survive it's first year, and it doesn't cost anything, the answer would be yes, they would choose to help their child survive.

You don't have to show your breast, and you can feed your infant anywhere when you breast feed.

The average woman shows more cleavage at the beach then is shown during breast-feeding if you're wearing clothes or have a blanket.
