A quick google search will confirm this.
So exactly what rights were we born with because I was not taught any of this in the catholic schools I attended. What we were taught was that god gave us the ability to think on our own and the right to choose.

No it isnt.
The constitution and bill of rights were constructed to protect the natural rights we are all born with.
It has not done its job, thanks to lawmakers who share your corrupted thought process.

What natural rights are you born with? Do those that are born in North Korea have the same natural rights? Does nature care what your perceived rights are?

I think all men are created equal, pity you dont share that view.

Natural/inalienble rights- life, liberty, ownership of self and property or as Jefferson put it "pursuit of happiness"

Actually I think all people are created equal, regardless of race or sex or sexual orientation and I want to see our man made constitution to reflect that. Sorry you don't feel the same.

Again, nature didn't give you these rights, the people who came before you gave you these rights as they have protected them generations before us and as we will protect them for the future generations.

Nature doesn't care about your rights.

Define liberty. Many libertarians of your sorts will define it as freedom from coercion, but this is not accurate. For example, take Social Security (which libertarians despise). While it is a coercive program, is has increased the freedom of millions and led to a better quality of life in one's golden years. It has reduced poverty, increased life expectancy, and increased the overall quality of life of our elderly. People are better off and more free because of this coercive program.

What about property, specifically natural resources? Natural resources were never created by man, so who owns them? The right libertarian argument is thoroughly deficient in deciding this. First come and mixing your labor with it, does not mean you own it.

Then what about your right to labor? In modern day societies, should you have a 100% to all your income? After all, you were probably educated by public tax dollars, benefit from public investment into infrastructure, and most likely benefit from the rules and regulation set by the public.

For example, just try starting up a business in a third world country that hasn't made the investments into education and infrastructure and do not have any rules and laws that prevent unfair business practices.

A part of your labor is dependent on public investment and institutions.

While it is neat and all to say that natural rights are simply life, liberty, and property, it become more complex in the details.

Can you explain how we are to divine what is a natural right and what is not? I get the sense, and correct me if I'm wrong, that you're not the religious sort, so I'm curious where you think these rights come from, if not from human beings?

"Ultra-conservative" ?

You mean ultra wicked...wickedness can be conducted with the left hand as well as the right....as for murdering those you perceive as immoral...remember this..."God sends the blessing of rain on the wicked as well as the good" Grace defined is the undeserved mercy of God...in other words if you have class you are kind to all...even those you find immoral....what other option is there to create a civil world?
I will stick with Ultra -Conservative. I think it would best describe those, who think the death penalty should be applied to adulterers.

How about "contract" and "individual"?

These words have been redacted from the liberal lexicon.

We conservatives know that liberty and freedom cannot be granted by a king or a ruling class, but can only be endowed by our creator (or natural law) as a unalienable right.

What are you talking about? I use the words liberty and freedom all the time.

I'm a Democrat. Is that a "leftist" to you? I am guessing yes.

I am a patriotic American.
