Jury could be hung with a holdout or two that want to convict Zimmer. Could be trying to convince them that self defensive for 2nd degree is self defense for manslaughter.
Just heard it on the television...sorry. Funny how the media is dead set on convicting George of something. Otherwise, they really made a mountain out of a molehill and the egg is on their face BIG TIME!!!
The words out of the Judge's mouth when she read in open court the question from the jury would be the best source, and she said the word "manslaughter," not self defense. That must have been pure speculation from a journalist on TV.
To me a key part of the manslaughter instructions is the sentence:
The killing of a human being is justifiable homicide and lawful if necessarily done while resisting an attempt to murder or commit a felony upon George Zimmerman, or to commit a felony in any dwelling house in which George Zimmerman was at the time of the killing.
If the jury thinks that Trayvon attacked George, and that Trayvon was unjustified, then wouldn't the attack be a felony, which would mean they can't convict George for manslaughter?

Not if Trayvon felt threatened, stand your ground gives him that right to use force, or doesn't it?
Whatever they want they may not get this clarification. Evidently judges rarely do this and would be good grounds for appeal if he is convicted.
Wow, that's strange. Seems that there is in effect right now a 30 minute recess so that the attorneys for each side can determine what they want the Judge to say.......if it were so "standard" that the Judge would not at least re-read the manslaughter charge, I wonder why she called a recess for the attorneys to consult.
Even with the trial over, CNN still can't get basics right ---
"A 911 dispatcher [wrong] told Zimmerman that officers were on the way and not to follow [wrong] the allegedly suspicious person. Zimmerman got out of his car, nonetheless, [wrong] later telling police that he'd just wanted to get a definitive address."
Guilty of manslaughter on Monday or early Tues.
