Well this is incredibly ironic in a dark, twisted way, given that the ultraconservatives and radical Muslims like to think they are polar opposites.

Among the material he had was a piece arguing 9/11 and the OKC bombings were government conspiracies, one about the "rape of our gun rights," one about white supremacy that stated, "Hitler had a point," and one deriding the use of drones in the Middle East.

So I guess the next logical step is for us to ban conservative libertarian immigration, and export those already here... you know, just like what we should do with Muslims... right? Right?
I get on leftwing websites every day. I'm hardly leftwing. Just trying to stay one step ahead, to counterattack ridiculous talking points.

Those publications had articles about bombings. Perhaps he was doing research, and the political bent was irrelevant?

Time Magazine, Rolling Stone, and CNN are not left wing

The right wing is what brought this guy in to the country- the extreme left is actually the new right wing- but just have not recognized themselves as such- Yet! Forget about trying to plant the blame on the so-called right as we know it...It was the left as we perceive it that through their we are all one - love everybody immigration policy.

He trained in a Muslim terrorist camp in Dagestan. That's what makes me think it has nothing to do with a purported ultra conservative sentiment. How many threads do we see on this forum daily from lefties who would fall down if they leaned any further left talking about the latest with Limbaugh or Hannity? Does reading or listening to what those guys have to say indicate ultra conservative sentiment?

People who try to make these asinine connections are a reminder of why there are directions on shampoo.

I agree with your bolded part. But it goes above being a registered D or R.
It's a progressive global mentality at work here.

Why do we let extremists immigrate here ?
And why do we let them stay when evidence surfaces ?

The biggest slap in the face is Hasan.
We even let him stay in the US military for crying out loud.
We let him make a joke of our judicial system by not shaving and dragging that one out for over 1 year.

He still seems to have mostly been influenced by radical Islamist texts.

Nice try though.

I'm a libertarian and you will not find too many explicitly libertarian books in my house. I don't own anything written by any major libertarian author. Out of the political books I do have, many of them are liberal and left-wing. I own two books by Michael Moore and zero books by Friedrich Hayek. I also have ties to the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. No joke. I have friends in Russia are literal Stalinists and are active in the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and several affiliated Communist and Socialist groups. I originally met them through various political forums such as this and we bonded over various non-political shared interests such as a similar taste in movies and humor. I regularly speak with several of them both online and over the phone.

If you were to exclude my posts on this forum and a few other internet forums, a quick search of my house and my overseas connections would imply that I am hardcore Left-winger.

They are the flip side of the same coin. Both want theocracy, both view those who think differently as the enemy, and both wish to deny women equal rights.

Maybe thats a good reason for us not to get married, long as we're "engaged", she'll never act upon those urges..

He was a paranoid conspiracy theorist. The most interesting part of the article is that he was not particularly devout. His actions were political, not religious. As such he seems more like Timothy McVeigh than Bin Laden.
