By 1770, England had been protecting the settlers for 150 years. They financed soldiers to guard against, Indians, the French and to some extent the Spaniards. Once they levied a tax, a very small one, the egg hit the fan. Never saw that in my High School History books.
so that made the acts of tyranny justifiable? like quartering soldiers, stealing live stock and savings, burring churches with the doors locked so the people inside could not escape.
you are right how dare they not throw their lives, skills and property at the feet of a tyrant and his army..
I cannot help being astonished
That a people should come 3,000 miles
At such risk, trouble and expense
To rob, plunder and destroy another people
Because they will not lay their lives
And fortune at their feet.
Any disagreement with Progressives means you are advocating repressive laws whether you are or aren't.
While the left say religious nuts have taken over the Repub party I am seeing that extreme progressives have taken over the Democratic party.
With progressives everything is extreme.
Conservative:"I think women should pay for their own birth control"
Progressive: "OMG women's rights are being removed from society"
Don`t you love it, they demand compromise, yet they give up nothing and you get nothing?
They demand civility, yet they label you "racist" or a "nazi" or a "domestic terrorist", yet when you call out their long sad history of failed ideas they call you a lair..
"Progress" (as in "Progressives") is moving backward. The "American idea" is still the newest idea in the history of man. The Left's ideas are all old and failed systems from the past, which have been responsible for the oppression of people by the ruling class. That is where they want to take us back to.
Bingo! It was the left that deeply opposed civil rights. Kennedy and LBJ voted against Civil Rights Act in 1957.
That and fought a war to try and keep them in chains.
And yet blacks vote for that party by 93%..
And then LBJ passed the Civil Rights, something Kennedy proposed before he was assassinated. Barry Goldwater opposed the Civil Rights bill. Do you really expect Black people to vote for Barry Goldwater?

The above statement displays a profound lack of understanding of how the two parties have switched ideology over time. During Lincoln's time, the Republican Party was the liberal party. After Civil Rights legislation during the 1960s, the conservative Democrats migrated to the Republican Party. Northern Democrats were already liberal.

you are aware he favored states passing the bill at a state level...why do you guys always leave the part out..and yeah, they should have, they sons would not have been cannon fodder in vam.

It needed to be passed on a national level. If it were left up to the states, Jim Crow would have lingered on longer in the Deep South.
I keep hearing this from the Progressive squawk is, " they want to take us back to the 1850's", or the 1870's, when talking about the Constitutionalist, like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and the real conservatives in Washington. The fear is put out there like it is the GOD's truth.
For just a second, has anyone stepped back and looked at where the Progressives are taking us to?
THE 1770's.
Tyranny is abound and the Police state with all the kings men running amuck, with full power to destroy anyone they feel like.
King George would be proud of his New World..... ORDER
i hate that too. especially women saying conservatives are treatin women like its the 1870s. its like ****

You are right, they would not have blacks would then leave those states, and bring wealth and labor to other states where they did pass such laws, the market place will punish the south....
