Believe it or not. Lighting is the main residential power user. I don't like wasting my money and for that reason more than any other I don't use incandescent light bulbs. I have bought a few LED light fixtures lately and the light from them is awesome. It's the closest thing I have seen to natural outside light. I don't worry about the mercury as I take them to a recycle facility when they are burnt out.

I like LED bulbs, and have compact cfl's, but remember, compact cfl's contain mercury, and have to be disposed of as hazardous waste.

So the very desert tortoises who they claimed couldn't take care of themselves in the wild can't now because they have been weened off the government teet and can't survive on their own, the same government who will have to kill them to protect them. Yes, many animals can't survive in the wild after being in captivity, and some can't survive in the wild because of man-made problems, does that mean that we shouldn't try to save them?
