Some people here at CD never cease to amaze me.

People don't have jobs & get welfare.....they are deadbeats.
People work hard and ask for more money for said jobs....they are delusional.
Teachers, charged with the task of teaching your stupid kids get paid a reasonable salary....they're overpaid.

Unreal.

Montgomery County is affluent. And that close to D.C., $50,000 is hardly a lot of money.

i thought about being a teacher once, then i realized that they are underpaid, not a big problem for me, but they are also under armed as well. sorry i wont go into any jr high or high school unles i can pack at least a .45.

dont ever become a mechanic then, you will spend about $75,000 on tools and tool boxes to hold them, and you will be constantly buying new tools either to replace old ones that wear out or break, and the newest specialty tools, to the tune of another $10,000 per year. and that is just the basic tools you will need to start getting jobs done. if you want to get good, and make it easier on you, you will spend about double the numbers i quoted.

Many spend their grading periods talking to parents or counseling troubled children, too. Every teacher I know is grading papers in the evenings and on weekends all during the school year. Every last one.

They get part of the summer, otherwise they have lots of work that has to be done. Every teacher I know works straight through during Spring, Fall, and Christmas break because if they don't, stuff doesn't get done and they get marked down. Yes, they're "at home" but they're still doing work for the school. Oh, yes, I also forgot about the weekends they have to spend doing work. So any "extra" time off during summer, is really just compensation for working through everyone else's off time.

continuing education, workshops, seminars, summer school, teachers dont get as much time off as it seems on the surface. just because they dont have to deal with students for a few months, doesnt mean they are not working at their craft.
