This is incredibly two faced. The problem is not what they are being paid but rather its why the government continues to give them so much money to be able to afford these salaries.
Be careful making that comparison. The last guy who was one of us spent a lot of time away from Washington. Incidentally, no POTUS really gets vacation. They work every single day.

By the way, the government doesn't pay CEO salaries.

I find it interesting our Government, which is made up of lawmakers that can vote themselves a raise at anytime, can take millions of dollars from corporations to get elected and can trade with inside information with impunity is trying to control the Corporate pay scale.

Corporations are expected to make a shareholder disclosure of CEO comp relative to other employee comp.

Well, if it is to bring corporate pay in-line with worker pay, it's long overdue.

A good idea would be to impose humongous fines on those businesses where total exec compensation exceeds the lowest worker compensation by a certain multiple. 40x seems reasonable. What better way to motivate execs to pay their lowest workers a fair wage than to tie it to their total possible compensation? Want to increase your exec pay? You have to raise your base worker pay first. Can't do that? Then your exec doesn't deserve more pay. Simple as that.

I don't believe people will go hungry when there's food readily available. Even at this point, if food stamps were cut, there'd be mass civil unrest in this country and change would happen IMMEDIATELY.

If you've been hungry before you know what I mean.

I don't agree with that at all. I don't even understand the goal of why this would be desirable.

I'm all about transparency, but why shouldn't compensation be determined by the market?

Our economy has problems, yes, but limiting CEO compensation is only treating the symptoms of those problems.

Two separate issues. I think you'll find a lot of support on the issue your bringing up.
