The extreme right-wing element of the GOP, and the American Taliban (a/k/a "Tea Party") seem to enjoy berating public employees and first responders. It's good to see the Vice President of the United States doesn't behave as badly.
You mean the same Uncle Joe that had to withdraw from the 1988 Presidential campaign because he was caught on tape berating a voter that asked him a question about his motivations and lied about his college education during this tirade? You mean that crazy ol Uncle Joe B? The same crazy Uncle Joe B that told the nation to illegally fire off a double barrel shotgun into the air in a public neighborhood?
Uh Ok. LMAO keep reaching. The only reason Bammers choose him as VEEP is that garbage always smells sweeter when compared to sewage, like the kind that often spews forth from Uncle J.B.'s lips.
This entire .gov web-site closure is so goofy and the DOJ Amber Alert closure sign is a perfect example of that. The Huffington Post is reporting that the DOJ site just 're-directs' people to the correct site.
So ..... what close it? What exactly is the point of that?
It's like the Key Stone Cops are trying to run the USA. Dumb web closures and barricades with guards on scenic over-looks, waterways and parking lots that NEVER have any Federal employees in place.
Oddly enough the .gov site for Amber Alerts is down, but Michelle Obama's Let's Move.gov web site is paid for, and is up and running.
Vice President Joe Biden gave his support to the park ranger who was blasted by a Republican lawmaker at the World War II Memorial.Biden called the park ranger to say he was proud of her.
.................................... just like the officials in Germany, cheerfully stamping the rail passes for people being sent to Belsen.
Government officials do not have to be blind servants to federal commands. Common sense would dictate that she should have simply stepped aside after making her suggestion. If she felt threatened, she should have called in the SS (............I mean the DC police).
If a conservative had said that, he'd have been tarred and feathered by now.
If that ranger can't take the heat (and gimmeabreak if we're to believe that she hasn't heard worse), then maybe she should consider hanging around the kitchen.
Thank you for identifying yourself to the community as a typical bully. "Hey, it's definitely the bully's target at fault here for, you know, being there. Or something."
People with any kind of class or decent upbringing NEVER berate powerless employees for things that are beyond their control. Period.
Clearly, you have been living in a cave -- or live in the fact-free GOP bubble where the deficit is rising. Spending has been flat for several years and the deficit is plunging.
U.S. debt was downgraded several years ago not because of any fear by the credit agencies belief that the U.S. could not pay its debt but due to political bickering.
In the words of S&P:
Since the, a better economy has improved the deficit picture.
That is the very reason that the talking heads on Faux News and Limbaugh are not bringing up the defecit anymore...
You may have read about the recent study from the Congressional Research Service finding no empirical support for the dogma that cutting taxes on the wealthy leads to higher economic growth. How did Republicans respond? By suppressing the report. On economics, as in hard science, modern conservatives don’t want to hear anything challenging their preconceptions — and they don’t want anyone else to hear about it, either.
After reading more about this whole government shutdown, it seems to me, we give too much power to this one person.he needs to be taken down, like I used to do with classroom bullies. Send him to detention, and let the work go on without him.
Sounds like a plan ..... who do you think would be best to send the Speaker of the US House to 'detention'? Capitol Police, FBI, D.C. Police .... some other body?
Come to think of it - that probably won't work unless the also "detain" the Republicans who would step up and replace Boehner. Maybe they should just order the "detention" of all the Republicans in the House of Representatives. That should settle things in short order.
Good idea you have presented. I could actually see this as a possibility.

Yup right up there with your hero's Obama and Clinton.
Except I doubt that poster has ever droned innocent civilians to death or has a Vince Foster in their past.

Not detention, a time out. That's what you do when toddlers throw a temper tantrum because they don't get their way.
