Yes, the House has spent the year passing idiotic bills that did nothing but try to undermine the majority. You can't have everything you want. That is not how compromise works. If you think the Republicans will defund ACA, then you are on the losing side of this battle.

I am not sad that slaves were freed (it was the right thing to do). It is sad what was done with that freedom.
and back then Democrats had the South and Republicans had the North.

Today, it's the other way around. It's hard to use historical moments when the parties change over time.

They have sent numerous individual spending bills that had nothing to do with ObamaCare. Harry Reid will not take action on them. He is keeping the government shut down on purpose (this distracts from the disaster of the "exchanges" not working).

The Democrats forced ObamaCare on the American people without a single Republican vote. That's what I call insisting on "having it our way." They would not allow any debate at all on ObamaCare, and no one had read the bill. Is that how we do things in this country? Is that how our government is supposed to work? I don't think so.

I support the defunding of ObamaCare, and its ultimate repeal. Does my voice not count? According to the way Democrats are behaving, it doesn't.

That bold part is reason enough to get rid of it.

Get over it. Our system is designed to frustrate people like you from having control over others.

Those spending bills are nothing more that playing politics. The House Republicans think they can defund ACA by passing small spending bills on everything but ACA. It was easy for anyone to spot and the Republicans got slapped down for trying that.

The Republicans don't make up the majority of the country and bills have passed before in Congress without the other side's support. Did you also get upset when the Republicans were in control and passed bills without a single Democrat voting for it?

That is why we have a Republic and not a Democracy.
It is always a two way street in the USA.

You are completely wrong. Thus, getting rid of it is precisely the OPPOSITE.

So you prefer to elect politicians that are pushovers and let others get their way? Or do you just expect Democrats to be the pushovers? You are on the losing end of this fight, you just don't know it yet.

This is not a nation of "majority rule".

Thank GOD for that. There are few tyrannies worse than that.

You should tell the House Republicans that who have been trying hard to shut down the minority in the House by changing the rules to favor the majority.
