She's no doubt an Obama voter.

The leeches are all fat pigs regardless of nationality.

No doubt about it. Just like other "Mexican American's"....she undoubtedly wants amnesty for her criminal colleagues so that they too can enjoy being a net drag on America. Such a wonderful group of people these folks are! Where I come from, we call them Liberal Idiots!

This is how wasteful people on food stamps can be. Stopping for snacks on the way home instead of grabbing an apple before you leave home. Wasting food stamps on junk like hot cheetos and snow cones. Letting tomatoes rot and if you are on a budget (can't make your food stamps last) why is Coke Zero being purchased......and these are the same ones that complain when the temporary increase ended.

From the article:

“Let’s go,” she told the children, rushing them out of the kitchen and into the car. “We can stop for snacks on our way home.”

people use their government Lone Star cards to purchase some of South Texas’s most popular snacks, paying $1 for hot Cheetos smothered with cheese or $2 for a Mexican snow cone covered with gummy bears and chili powder. He had seen children use food stamps to buy Red Bull energy drinks by the case,

“Fresh vegetables,” the sheet suggested, and Blanca found two rotting tomatoes, a package of frozen broccoli and two containers of instant vegetable soup. “Fruit,” the sheet read, and she saw grape-flavored popsicles and three apples in the crisper. “Dairy”: They had Cool Whip and Nesquik. “Whole grains”: three frozen pizzas and a package of corn dogs. “Healthy Snacks”: a 24-pack of hot Cheetos.

The prepackaged diet lunches she splurged on at $3.50 each sometimes came back from school with uneaten turkey and whole-wheat crackers.

Now Antonio came into the kitchen looking for something to eat. “Make a smart choice,” she told him. She watched him grab a bag of Super Mario Brothers Fruit Flavored Snacks and a Coke Zero.

I think the OP is missing the point of the article, poor nutrition and obesity are a huge problem in this country (no pun intended.)

Problem is, there's no evidence that "cutting foodstamps" or other forms of aid would reduce the birthrate among former recipients. The areas of the planet with the very highest birthrates (like Niger, Afghanistan, etc.) have no social welfare systems to speak of. And the US birthrate even among the lowest income quintile has been dropping in recent years rather than rising.

If food stamps caused people to have more kids, we'd be seeing a baby boom right now instead of a bust, since the rate of usage has risen so much since 2008. But we see the opposite.

You can always find individual cases that gall you or get up your dander, but as a policy, you have to look at the entire system, and the birthrate among American poor people is dropping.

Of course, when a conservative steps up to try to put a stop to this madness, Democrats and liberals demagogue them (us) to death for trying to deprive little Juan or Tyrone or Jimmy of his Fruity Pebbles!

This woman is the THE PERFECT example of failed liberal ideology. She's the child of immigrants. She's fat. She's disabled. She does not work. She receive's food stamps. She has 5 obese children.

Is there a more perfect example of how liberals and liberalism are the death of America?

How the food stamp diet is leaving the Rio Grande Valley both hungry and obese | The Washington Post
doesn't this isht ever get old to you RWNJs? are these poor people really the ones threatening the prosperity of the shrunken middle class? no. the real death of America is coming to you courtesy of the rich elitists and their henchmen, the politicians, who are doing everything they can to destroy the middle class while telling you to "look over there! she's taking all your money getting over on food stamps!"

Education and easy access to contraception are the keys to lowering birth rates among those who cannot afford to have children, which is why you are seeing a declining birthrate among these groups.

The Catholic Church and conservatives in general have been hostile to these very things which have proven effective.

well, maybe. except for all those college kids and gays and wealthy northerners and Asian people, etc who voted for Obama. your statement doesn't really jive with the fact that some of the fattest states in the US are also the reddest.

The numbers don't add up. The average benefit per day is about $4 per person, and Texas is one of the lowest participants in the country. No one could buy all these cases of Red Bull, $2 snacks, and even $3.50 lunches.
