And you wonder why poorer people vote Democrat? Why vote for people that hate your guts? And you wonder why Romney lost. Oh, I know why he lost. The people are "just too stupid" to know any better

They tried these at our mcdonalds. For about 6 mos or so. I liked them (I normally do not care for the self serve thing) and they seemed to work very efficiently since the people largely working behind the counter were latino and some their command of english was not the best. Maybe which is why they tried this program at that particular store?

It did improve the service and the overall quality of a visit. However, they took them out. This was about 2 years ago.

The idea that unskilled workers are entitled to $15 per hour, that's what. And complaining that they cannot support children on such wages? Why did they breed so early and often? What do they truly offer employers? I'd like a proportional raise in my wages every time the minimum rate goes up.

And I moved out at 18, put myself through college, developed skills, have two grad degrees and am a recognized SME in my field. I'll bet your mama's still making your oatmeal in the morning, right?

They can assemble all they want. I do object morally to attempts to extort higher wages from businesses to which they offer little if anything in return. That does not help society at all.

Those who you define as "RWNJ"s are not the ones with a breeding problem.

I've been there. And I've adapted, not doing now what I did in my 20s. And I prepared myself for life by developing marketable skills. If you read the OP, there will be no more burger joint order takers. They'll be competing with you at the Kwik-E-Mart.

Be sure to clean around the edges on the Slurpee machine tonight. Customers hate when it's messy and you don't want the boss mad at you again.
Here's a real heads up for you; I've been retired since 04 and am living the dream of hunting and fishing in Canada and golfing in Florida after a lifetime of skilled trades oriented business services providing maintenance on a contractual basis to companies using high speed manufacturing/packaging production equipment.

I've seen my share of technology related job elimination; even rode the wave in front of it to a very lucrative career BUT I never gloated over those jobs being eliminated because those jobless end up costing you a whole bunch more out of your arrogant existence than a more expensive Whopper ever would have. Your level of arrogance can only come from being too young to not be able to see beyond the next yellow brick road.

Your day will come my friend, of that I'm sure and you will not be able to handle the reality that even your friends, knowing you well, will quite probably take some pleasure out of your fall from your exalted heights. Please don't be too upset at them as they're probably RWNJ's like yourself, so you should have expected their utter lack of empathy.

Your side of the aisle these days shows nothing but a complete disconnect from the normal human traits we should all aspire to have.

You do realize that those low level employees taking your order now are using the same screen formatted with little symbols and acronyms that they'll probably carry over for you to use. Feel good; knowing Mc D's has been able to reduce you to doing their work for them while not lowering the price one iota?

You really should revise your "GLOAT" criteria there Shylock.

How stupid do you have to be to lust after performing a go nowhere job and NOT get paid for it?

Liberals' whole reason for unlimited immigration besides the cheap easy votes is to have this cheap foreign labor put Americans out of work. That's why they use that line that illegals are needed to do the jobs for low wages that Americans are too lazy to do.

No real difference between this kind of thing and massive immigration which is to do the same thing.
No argument from me on that issue.

Everybody on here must face the inevitable day of only so many jobs still remaining but population has overrun the bell-curve.

Some of these gloating on here now will quite probably have grandchildren who ask them: why is my doctorate or master's degree only good for a months employment at a time? Was it that way when you were working gramps?

There are some sick, sick people out there. I voted Republican in 2010 and 2012. If Workin_Hard represents the GOP, then I'm sure as hell not voting for them next year. I'm not going to vote for a party that their base's main motivation to vote is because they hate the poor and gloat whenever they lose their jobs. Oh, and then they have the balls to complain about them "leeching" off welfare Comments and ideas like that literally cost Romney the election.

I don't take pleasure in needless suffering or misfortune. I do believe there are consequences for actions, and when people, or a group of people, expect others to bail them out due to unfavorable circumstances of their own creation, I take exception to such expectations.

People who expect society to take care of them when they have not made any contribution to that society nor prepared themselves for life, are not high on my list. This country offers far too many opportunities for anyone to fail.

I save compassion and charity for those who are truly in dire straits through no fault of their own.

$15 an hour for McJobs? A burger flipper union? Get real... or better yet, pull yourself up to a level where you don't need such. The answers are all around.

/sarcasm. You are a Luddite. Every time we figure out how to do anything cheaper and better, we are richer as a society.
No sarcasm intended as a child I remember my great grandfather tell me of the time he lost his job shoeing horses and the cooper down the street lost his job because of fangled no good Model A's put hard working Americans out of work!

If they can automate preparation and delivery of the product, even better.

The question is whether the current White House regime will try to claim a job created for every kiosk installed.

McDonald's orders 7,000 touchscreen kiosks to replace cashiers - Neowin
LOLz. Don't you understand, that's only more jobs lost and more welfare.

They did it because they were losing customers and had to get them back.
How much profit do you think comes out of dollar menu items ?
Seems like capitalism is failing to provide the American dream anymore. What happens when similar type of technology begins to replace surgeons and doctors and other highly paid professional, just to pick on the medical field.

Richer is relative, it certainly hasn't been the working class and middle class. Just like political and economic evolve over time, we will need to do same as technology continues to increase productivity and profits for a small segment of the population.
