An argument in a Tampa movie theater over texting during a preview ended with the texter and his wife being shot. An annoyed man behind them went looking for a manger, then came came back and shot them with a pistol. The shooter was detained by other patrons until police arrived. The witness doesn't mention race. The dying man's last words were "I can't believe...."
Actually more times then we hear about. Some cops even when off duty or ex-cops are always in power mode. Exaxtly what you stated, on a power trip.
If I listen to this stupid idiotic logic, everytime I see someone texting while driving, which is a lot these days, I would be shooting a awful lot of people! Cell Phones are a way of life today.
Hek when I drive, and someone next to me in another lane is texting and coming into my lane, which many times this has happened. Does this warrant me shooting the person.
As a real stretch, yes. You might call it self defense. Anyone who is texting and driving, then drifting into your lane is guilty of attempted murder. It's no different than driving drunk.
While I don't condone shooting the man, all evidence reported seems to support that the shooting victim was being anti-social, arrogant, immature and provoking an old man.
No excuse to shoot him or even lay a finger on him by any means, but anti-social behavior like that alleged to have been done by the victim, as a whole, does more to destory the everyday quality of life for average Americans than every shooting combined.
The bad part is, there are cell phone jammers available that the theater could have had in place.
No, there aren't. Cellphone jammers are universally illegal in the states. If the theater had even tried that, the FCC would have smacked them down so hard.

Wow, when one wonders what kind of half-witted Rambo-wannabe would shoot someone for texting prior to the start of the movie, you only have to read some of the responses here for the answer. Unreal.

It's a shame we're not as smart as the French, huh...?
