My employer has firmly stated that they will not change, reduce or drop our coverage. We have great coverage which is free to the employee, unless they add a spouse and/or children to their plan in which case we pay premiums on them.
I think it would be nice if our nation could provide some kind of very basic coverage to every citizen. But I also think they really bungled the attempt. Everything about Obamacare from what I've heard, is horribly broken.
Unless your employer provides one of the Cadillac Plans granted an exemption until 2018, you'll be getting an Obamacare plan sold to Employers.
Remember the delayed 'Employer Mandate'? It's up next year.
I didn't suggest that you should or shouldn't do anything - I was just pointing out the fiscal reality surrounding the discount that Canadians currently enjoy.
And I've got nothing against that discount...so long as I'm not subsidizing it.
The right thing to do for many corporates. An employer should not have to be the insurance business as well as why they are in business in the first place. Most of the best medical was gained by the hard work of Unions as a comparison / perk / negotiation to the union contract, outside of that better policy's can be found on the private market by the employes themselves.
"Most of the best medical was gained by the hard work of Unions" Care to back it up?
I started working for a very large company back in 1965. We had a union. In fact I was a union Steward.
Our free health care insurance was NEVER part of our union contract.
Employers should be on their knees praying to GOD for the fact that they can blame Obama for srewing over their workers , something they were going to do anyways!!!
Ain't that the truth. AND the insurance carriers who have been busy raising rates for the past 20 years are getting a pass as well.
Employers should be on their knees praying to GOD for the fact that they can blame Obama for srewing over their workers , something they were going to do anyways!!!
You obviously worked for the WRONG employers.
I NEVER had such an experience with ANY of my many employers.
Employers should be on their knees praying to GOD for the fact that they can blame Obama for srewing over their workers , something they were going to do anyways!!!
You sound like an angry man. I'm glad my outlook on life isn't so angry.
Employers should be on their knees praying to GOD for the fact that they can blame Obama for srewing over their workers , something they were going to do anyways!!!
I'll bet you've got a real rosy career outlook, with that attitude.
Any chance I can get your name, so I can add you to my "never hire, under any circumstances" list?
There was something Obama had delayed... Highly compensated employee insurance plans must be equivalent to the other employees... I wonder what is going to happen to Congress and the President's plan or are they going to EXEMPT themselves from the laws... typical liberal...
