The man is 100% right. If a person's skin color affects your vote in ANY way towards them, then you are a racist.
Its pretty interesting to see the increase of Christian/Religious based films coming out of Hollywood. Noah, Son of God, and now God's Not Dead, its an interesting trend in an industry that is so anti-Christianity and pro secularism/atheism. My theory is that there is a Christian rising in our culture, which has for the last several years been attacking Christian and Religious values in general. Hollywood may not like these movies, but they love money, and they know there's a big market of Christians out there who would gladly pay to see these films.
Our culture is decaying, morals are collapsing, and the world is seeing an increase in Secularism/Atheism who are trying to force their will on society. Christians are now standing up and speaking loudly. Its a big cultural response, we Christians are the silent majority.
It's no different than any other trend. Hollywood is nothing if not unoriginal. To read some great "movement" into the usual tradition of piggy-backing on one idea (see:Vampires), is just silly.
Someone will no doubt make money on these films but I don't expect any of them, "Noah" included, to approach "The Avengers" or "Hunger Games" in ticket sales. Just isn't going to happen and I say that as a Christian who will NOT gladly spend money to see any of these films.
Well, maybe "Noah." It's got that girl from the "Harry Potter" movies.
Yet it was the dems who created the KKK and lynched blacks for sport prior to the CRA of 1966. The dems create the problem then claim to swoop in and fix the problem they created while they ascribe it to someone else's doing.
Well let's remember that today's Republican party sure as heck is not the same Republican party from 50 or 60 years ago. Same for Democrat party. The more things change, the more things stay the same. And yes democrats staged lots of the racist incidents that occurred and established KKK and lynchings and worked hard to keep people impoverished and segregated and restricted people's rights.
I agree with you totally by the way on what you said. Personally I think these political party divisions are all divisive and all are protecting their mutually beneficial financial and socieconomic interests to get rich off of people they don't care about or really want to help.
I think we should get rid of political parties. Both parties have their hands dirty.
Obama won because the GOP ran McCain and Palin ( old geezer who acts like the Penguin and a ditzy hillbilly)
no contest
don't blame reverse racism because you guys are out of touch with mainstream America, stiff old geezers and angry rednecks aren't appealing to suburban housewives.
suburban housewives don't know much about anything when it comes to politics.
Why are Americans so infatuated with racism? I swear if we stopped fixating on it so much it wouldn't hold so much power. I think everyone can agree racism in any form is abhorrent. Let's just learn to love and respect one another. I'm tired of these little one upmanship type games from both sides. Racism is a real evil not a game.
Well, you are so right. And slavery has also been over for centuries. But there are still people who teach their families that people who look different are inferior. And many of those people still hold enough power in this country to effectively discriminate, profile and mistreat those who don't equal their influence in so many ways. And when blacks and others [who can yes, also be racist, as if it were relevant] end up suffering at the power brokers hands speak about the inequities, they are vilified as "trouble makers" who seek dissention while the ones perping the bigotry claim victim status. That is why it seems that Americans are "infatuated with racism." We refuse to to heed past hard lessons.
When blacks are accepted to colleges with lower scores than other races...because they're black, and are often given preferential treatment in the hiring process...because they're black, is it any wonder why people sometimes make the assumption that their accomplishments are...because they're black? Strange how that works.
That's the price you pay for getting preferential treatment- people assume your accomplishments are due to that preferential treatment, and sometimes, they're right.
I'm black, went to college and I have a pretty decent job.
So why should I care what you think of my "accomplishments?"
Even if I got it through Affirmative Action, I still have it. And you can't take it away regardless of what you think.
So "the price you pay" (whatever the hell that means in your post) is meaningless. I mean, it's not like you're gonna come to me and tell me that I don't deserve what I have, even if you believe it. You're not crazy.
In other words, there are no negative consequences for me (or any other African American) no matter what you think.
