FWIW, How do we now that Obama did not "arrange" to have the books look like $6B was missing just to sink Clinton's chances.

She was doomed the moment the news about Benghazi broke out. The liberal media likes to try and brush it under the rug, but it's not going to happen. The world needs to know the truth!

The management Alert does not say that any money is missing. It says that contract files associated with $6 billion in contracts are "incomplete or could not be located."

A contract file is not money. It is documentation of how the contract was solicited, negotiated and awarded.

Ouch.
It looks like the Republican congress actually had been trying to force Obama to nominate an IG:

Vacant State Department inspector general position draws criticism - The Washington Post

“I am particularly concerned with adequate oversight in this area given the billions of dollars that will be at stake as operations in Iraq are transitioned from the Department of Defense to Department of State,” at the end of this year, said House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.).

"One high-ranking official familiar with the selection process said the State Department’s current leadership had opposed filling the top slot because it prefers the office to remain under Geisel’s supervision. A committee of existing inspectors general long ago put forward a short list of recommendations for the job, but the White House has not acted on them, the official said, asking not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the issue."

All that being said, I don't think it will have much effect on Clinton's chances of winning. She's more qualified than any president since George Bush senior, and has a lot of influence. She must surely be the front runner, thought it's way to early to make predictions.

You can thank Republicans in Congress for this one. They have made it a point to delay and prevent positions from being filled which leads to issues like this. Had Republicans not played politics with important inspector positions, we wouldn't have this issue.
Had the Dems put someone up that was qualified, and not some partisan hack, they would have been voted through.

I'm not so sure. Hillary is simply not liked. Everyone loves Bill, but she is not him.
Just like last time, IMO, the media's shoe in for Hillary is not going to happen.
They will just have to keep the "women's rise to the top" film footage for someone
more deserving. Hillary isn't it.

The article doesnt tell how much money was lost in specific years, it doesnt even tell us when the study was conducted.

For all you know, all that money could have been lost in 2008 before she ever got there.

To be serious, though, this kind of stuff really bothers me. I've watched billions get paid out in the DoD to contractors for systems that never got delivered, didn't work, or where simply never implemented.

This kind of stuff happens under every president, regardless of political affiliation. Same amount was lost under Bush, too.

I think there needs to be greater oversight of all Federal programs, but the politicians won't have it when the contractors are wining and dinning them, taking them out for a round of golf, and promising them seats on their Board of Directors once they are out of office.
