That still doesn't excuse a 40 something year old grown man preying on someone less than half his age-whether male or female. That teenage horniness only makes them more vulnerable to creeps and pedophiles that promise fame and money.

Why is it so important for people to have sex within their own age group? Let's at least try to be honest here; the object of sex, in today's world, is orgasm. If that object is met in both parties, the burden ought to be on anyone objecting to prove why the relationship is wrong; and "I think it's icky" doesn't cut it in a supposedly free society.
Sounds like a case of blackmail for financial gain. This guy claims when he was 17 years old back in 1998 was forcibly seduced by Singer? Why did it take him so long to come forward? Because he was waiting for Singer to become successful? Also, the age of consent in HI is 16.

That being said, it is illegal to transfer a minor over the border with the intent for sex, and it says that he was flown to Hawaii.. Maybe, that might be a factor, not sure.

If he used force or drugs (like Roman Polanski did) then no I will not. But in that case, it doesn't matter if the victim was 17, 27 or 77, it's just plain old rape.

Michael Egan was 15 at the time of the abuse. Rapists can rape anyone of any age, however, raping minors does put the rapist into the pedophile category. The sex was not consensual. Rape is icky, no matter the age of the victim.

That is not the definition of pedophilia. Pedophilia is a psychiatric category, not a legal one. You can search the criminal code all day in vain for any such crime as 'pedophilia.'

Ok, then. I don't really see how it makes it any better to say that the man may have raped a 15 year old boy or to say, a pedophile may have raped a 15 year old boy. Rape is disgusting and wrong no matter what we title we give to the rapist.

I agree; I do think there is a big difference, however, between forcible rape and statutory rape, not just a difference in name.
He filed suit in Hawaii because the statue of limitations does not prevent him from pressing charges this late in the game. He was raped. It was not consensual sex.
