Because we are pointing out that they are getting welfare and cutting wages to get these profits. Its much like the cons argument about guys on welfare having wide screen t.vs, cars, computers and cell phones etc.
The point of corporate welfare and the trickle down economic model was for corporate america to create more jobs, pay employees better etc etc. Its not happening.
It is the CEO of any corporation to offer as great a return to the corporation's stockholders as he possibly can - nothing more. You are pie-in-the-sky with your dream that any CEO has an obligation to pay employees any more than he has to pay them.
If you really ever owned a real business, which I doubt greatly, it surely would have folded in a very shot period of time.

Who is cutting wages ?
I read about layoffs and reduced hours.
US profits and revenue are DOWN with most companies especially the ones that cater to the poor.
Wrong. Most of these "profits" are coming from other countries.
Take a look at annual reports.
US sales are stagnant or declining compared to other emerging nations who are seeing double digit growth.

That's is because the USG wants tax on their global income. The US is not satisfied with just taxing US income..they want it all.
They also want it from individuals. The US Embassy in Toronto is booked solid until January 2015 with US citizens applying to renounce their citizenship.

You can go to good will and find an x box or PS3 for 30 bucks, a big screen TV on black friday can be as cheap as 100 dollars if you know where to shop and to get in line early.
maybe you need to re evaluate how you determine if someone is poor ????
