That's good news. As stated in the article above, what Pierson repeatedly said were mistakes are actually major security failures. When it comes to the security of the President of the United States and the first family, that's unacceptable IMO. You have to have somebody that's highly competent leading the SS.
That big fat director of the Secret Service seems to be the most incompetent bureaucrat they could find.
Seriously, just look at her. She couldn't personally walk across the street without a shot of oxygen.
How can someone like that lead what is supposed to be a group of highly trained, best of the best federal agents? Why isn't she fired yet?
Have you ever considered that perhaps not all are the best of the best and it's just propaganda to appeal to this need we seem to have to believe that the US and therefore, we are somehow exceptional?
The issues within the SS were there before this director arrived and nothing has changed.
It's reasonable to assume that the whole adventure is on tape. Why not haul in the agents on duty that shift and demand some answers from the people who were there.
I watched the C-span hearings yesterday. She was awful. Very glad to hear that she is gone.
Pierson said she is responsible for briefing the President whenever there is a serious breach of his or his family's security. When asked how many times she briefed the President in 2014 she answered once (the WH intruder). Just hours after that answer the media broke the armed man in the elevator story. She lied. I suspect more incidents will be uncovered.
Thankfully she's out and this is the wake-up call to better protect the President - but we will still get right wing complaints and whining about traffic tie-ups or extra security at graduations or other events attended by the President.
