That was my very first thought as well...I do not care WHO the POTUS is,his security should be priority one.

Sure good for her for doing her job. This is not really about her. But I want my president protected by a bodyguard who is not going to be overpowered by an intruder, save for the unlikely event that Shaquille O'Neal decides to storm the WH.
Yep an intruder missing part of his limb.

The guards were probably hired according to quotas with the thought that they would never really be needed, except for photo ops and bolster social justice statistics.

Where was Bo, the president's dog?

Who doesn't carry a pocket knife?

Works well for Obama, it portrays him as a 'victim' and encourages Dems to vote.

Anyone ask him his intentions?

Maybe he was interviewing for a job as whitehouse security guard and decided to demonstrate his qualifications?

There's a step the SS could have taken before shooting the guy: they could have let their trained attack dogs (Belgian Malinois by the way) take the guy down. If he tried to fight off the dogs he would have been bitten but could have been taken into custody without serious injury. Someone had to have made the decision to not use the dogs. Who was in the position to make that call? Or was everyone simply asleep?

Who knows how relaxed this security has been...it probably extends decades.
There has been a couple of breaches, if you were the president with a family would you not make it a priority?
Like I said I hope for his sake he has a concealed weapon

Call the Oakland Raiders defensive line coach. Ask for his help. He'd know about real men and what they can do that those silly females can't do. They could serve their country and you wouldn't have to complain about females doing what is obviously a a man's job. Maybe you could even chest bump a Raider on his way to guarding the East Room.

Oh. Wait.
Yes, oh wait:

Generally with every President, they make it a habit to not interfere with the operational structure of the Secret Service. I mean, every President has their favorite individual agents that they instill trust in and have them conduct duties beyond what they were hired for...JFK, Reagan, Bush, Clinton etc etc all had them...but normally they allow the actual protection details to be handled by the SS themselves with little to no input from themselves.

I would hope the Whitehouse has a battery of missiles to protect from a small plane attack.
I am just saying if it was my family I would certainly look into Whitehouse security at this point

Mark Sullivan was appointed Director of the SS in mid 2006 and lasted until early 2013 and did so despite the 2008 scandal in Columbia and the serious mess associated with the 11/11/2011 White House sniper.

That shooter believed Obama was the antichrist and he had an obligation to kill him. Shots were fired at WH windows. WH SS dismissed the situation and concluded the noise was car backfire.

4-5 days later a cleaning lady discovered broken glass.

Obviously there is something rotten in Denmark and it minimally spanned 2 presidential appointed directors.

After this repeated debacle, I'm beginning to think that their protection and omnipresence is somewhat mythical. I agree though, if I were Obama, I would look to revamp the SS at the managerial/operational level.
