Obama is and idiot. And so is anyone who thinks the spread of this terrible disease is "inevitable" and that we should just sit back and let it ravage humanity. The Black Plague wasn't stopped until people started burning down cities. This country won't even suspend a few flights. Man are we ever doomed!

This is why we need to halt ALL TRAVEL to and from these areas for the foreseeable future.

If we do not do this immediately we could see a very scary situation on our hands in very short period of time.

The UK has already done so.

It's the rational and the right thing to do for our citizens.

We are taking about the vectoring of an extremely deadly virus, debating between a choice of life versus profit is quite comical and quite sad concerning this particular situation.
What has the UK done?

British Airways ceased flights between the continent and Liberia and Sierra Leone.

There are no flights between the US and Liberia and Sierra Leone.

FAA did on 9/11.

Since there are no direct flights, are you talking about flights from everywhere?

Problem solved.
And how would you determine this beyond it being voluntary?
Passport stamps are highly unreliable.
Once here, then what?

That's a little more pro-active than waiting on heads of state.
There are only two carriers that continue to fly and those flights are viewed as lifelines for aid workers. Reportedly, they are flying at 1/3 capacity and the passengers are rarely Liberian nationals.

Royal Air Marac and Brussel Air are not dependent on US passengers.

If there is pressure, it is more likely to come from pilots and especially flight attendants of these airlines.

My passports have not reflected half the countries I have been to.

If CNN is correct, Duncan is a citizen of Liberia and therefore would have a Liberian passport. He may or may not have worked elsewhere. He would have needed a visa to enter the US.

Indeed. This is how it works in the real world.

One can ask that their passport not be stamped, too.i

Only thing I am aware of is that British Air has ceased all flights.

Can you share a link please that supports your statement.
