Look at the person in front of you.
Look at the picture in ID
Make sure they match.
If they match then look at the name in the book
Then the name on the ID
If they match as well then the person gets to vote.
And that does what? You don't know what that person is suppose to look like. Lets say they have a fake ID with their face on the ID, the name matches, their face matches the picture, and then they are given the go ahead to vote in place of that person.
How does a photo ID prevent that?
What about when someone votes through mail in ballot? You can't compare the picture to the face through that.
Do you guys see the holes you are forgetting to fill?

So because doing. Something doesn't solve 100% of the problem then We shouldn't do it? When has someone made up a fake ID to vote?
Easy solution, get rid of absentee voting.
The vote by mail is harder to abuse unless you do take them out of people's mail boxes.

You are reaching at straws at this point.
Why should we do something that you guys can't even prove that it will solve anything? Heck, I don't even think it would fix 1% of this very small problem.
So we should make voting harder in this country? What about all those in the military that vote by absentee? Or what about those that are abroad and still want to vote?
Heck, in the state of Oregon it is all mail in ballot and I prefer that system because I get to read over each candidate and issue and make an educated decisions on my own time.
The only ones reaching for straws are those that think a photo ID would fix a problem that it won't actually fix, nor is it an issue if those keeping track of the voter rolls are doing their job.
Because of fear and the disbelief that a democrat could win election. Many on the right are now pushing us to a police state where you need to show ID for everything. If you walk down a street, you could be asked for ID, this is wrong and the people pushing ID to vote are also wrong. We live in a free country where the rights of people should be protected.
We need ID for nearly everything anymore. It makes no sense whatsoever to not require it for voting. Seriously, how is this even an issue?
Could one use any photo ID to vote? What about if someone moves to a new state and they haven't been able to get a new drivers license, but has a valid license from their other state? Should they be denied the ability to vote in their new state?

Most states require you do get a drivers license within 10 of moving. If you move within the 10 day window then you would have missed the registration deadline.
You can always get an ID card without getting a license as well.

30 days ain most states.
And the process can be very difficult. Women for instance may have to provide full legal documents tracking marriages and divorces. And there was one famous case where the guy could not get a driver's license because his name on his passport had punctuation not allowed by the state. And if a court house burned...or a church...now you have to go to court to get an ID.
For rurals it may require a trip to the city at some cost and consumption of time.
