Yet it seems every politician, facing reelection, in need of more face time in on the air calling for a ban on travel.
I have long lost track of politicians and media talking heads who sustain the perception that there are daily shuttle flights between US airports and the 3 infected countries and those flights are chock full of Liberian Nationals infected with Ebola. And all we have to do is ban these people and all will be well in the US.
If only it were that simple. If only....
You insist on being disingenuous. We know there are no direct flights from these countries. We are saying cancel their visas. They won't be able to board a connecting flight to Europe without it.
At the end of day neither you or the administration has come up with a reason why Americans should risk keeping travel between the affected countries and US open. At least reasons that put American safety first.
While I'm not in any way particularly concerned about Ebola on this ship, because EVERYTHING is a sign of Ebola any more, and god only knows nobody gets sick on cruise ships.......I say push that tub out to sea and let it sit there for a month. See if more people have it/get it.
Actually, maybe this is where all these Ebola patients should be going instead of being brought to hospitals in urban centres: HOSPITAL SHIPS.
How long is a long time?
WHO declared epidemic in August.
What change in travel policy caused it to be here?
Need to look it up - but I remember reading something about that awhile ago. It wasn't a recent change... one of those things that was changed quietly a few years ago.
Something else to consider. The U.S. has a patent on some strain of ebola. Could this be something where a crisis is started and people benefit from the vaccine? All I know is something is up here. If people are dying now so that a ton of money can be made later, that's totally immoral, depraved behavior.
I suggest keeping your immune system healthy. Eat to help out your immune system. Get rest, reduce stress.
UPDATE: Found this regarding starting a crisis... I'm telling you - some people are looking to profit big time with this. The CDC has had a patent since 2009.
Meh, a sick person on a cruise ship isn't exactly news. It's hard to tell because they don't really explain her symptoms. Hopefully it's nothing. This whole situation would have never happened if we had denied Duncan entry.

Reason: edited quoted post
The CDC did a very poor job regarding monitoring the hospital workers that worked with Duncan.
They allowed people to travel and redefined what a fever is with their "threshold".
Cities all over Texas are reporting about people on that plane with the nurse.
Belton, Georgetown, Grapevine, Richardson, Lewisville have all reported people and children that were on the flight and at home under watch.
Belton closed their schools to clean them as the kids had gone to school.
Politicians better hurry on the travel restrictions... the 21 day Ebola irrational fear mongering window is running out
Until the next Duncan comes over, then it's round 2.
