I feel like most of the "Christian Left" are "Christians in name only." They may go to church every week, but they don't make it known they are Christian-almost like they are ashamed because of the fear of "offending" anybody who isn't a Christian.
Good examples include the Obama's, Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, Michael Moore, John Kerry, and Miley Cyrus.
Of course it exists. They're the people on their knees praying the Rosary when the state executes someone.
I have heard one can pray a bad person to Heaven, before they die.....I would think if the person wanted to be in Heaven they would have done the work......

Nope. Real Christians are those who live for God outside of the church and show God's love everywhere. They strive to do what God wants.
And before you say the Christian right is "greedy" and doesn't care about the poor, you have it all wrong. Churches believe in helping the poor through offerings and benevolences. We go out to poor countries and communities and build houses and help others. We bring gifts for the children. Ever hear of Samaritan's Purse? World Relief?

People excusing those texts shouldn't really be doing that unless we can really pick and choose what's ok and just ignore the things we don't like.
Kinda like making our own personal religion.
The problem I have is that this wasn't written in English. It was written in a language long dead. And it was more than 1 language too. So it was translated into English and some of those words had no translation to the English language. So they just substituted a word for it. Who knows what was actually written and the true meaning.
You're probably right, but I didn't want to search all day and that's what came up on Google. I was looking for something fairly non-biased, although had I read through this one in entirety, I probably wouldn't have used it. Also, this is not supposed to be a forum to explain Mormonism, just to explain that we've had several non-Christian presidents.

Tell that to the gays in Uganda. Those who are not in prison for life or dead now because of the meddling of Christian missionaries and their "benevolence."
Yes, actually, especially amongst African Americans, and Hispanics. A good percentage, if not a majority of them could fit under the category of religious, and left. After-all, Jesus was pretty much a socialist.
