I've never gotten a flu shot and never gotten the flu. Why fix what isn't broken? But in Philly right now there's a measles scare. Open borders and unrestricted illegal immigration, gotta love it.

Mexican children are better immunized than US kids, so you're barking up the wrong tree. There's a big measles outbreak in Europe, also the Philippines. That's where it's most likely coming from.

According to CBS on 12/31, there was a warning about a single possible case of Measles. No doubt the media is fear mongering again.

There was a massive outbreak in Ohio earlier in 2014 attributed to an unvaccinated Amish Community.

Yes, and the Amish epidemic started when some of their members went on a mission trip to the Philippines.

I got the flu yesterday despite getting a flu shot. I am now too sick to go to the doctor to get Tamiflu. Why is this a prescription medication?

Do you have anyone who can go to a store for you? They sell elderberry syrup or Sambucol at health food stores but also at places like Walgreen's. Hope you feel better soon.

This flu has legs. I haven't gotten this sick since I was a kid, and I haven't had a cold in almost five years thanks to a healthy life.

I believe I got it Saturday visiting a friend, or biting my nails after visiting Walmart. Started with intense sore throat (not like a cold, but as if it were swollen) and fever. I slept all of Monday and Tuesday, only waking up to drink sips of water, ice because (nausea was so bad I couldn't take a lot of water), and take my temperature which was over 101 degrees. I had chills, sweats, extreme nausea and stomach cramps and no solid foods until Thursday.

Now I'm eating and moving around, however woozy and have headaches, stuffy nose and sneezing constantly. This is less miserable than the stomach symptoms earlier this week. I really thought I was going to die.

I just moved to a more populated area so if I had been careful this wouldn't have happened. (Kicking myself). DH did not catch it because he's careful (hand sanitize, doesn't bite nails or touch things in public, and washes hands when home).

So just a warning from someone who doesn't get sick to please be careful and aware of what you're touching and try to stay away from highly populated stores if you can.

My youngest is getting over it, and it has been a doozy. I thought I was coming down with the flu, too, but it turned out to be a cold. He was the only one in our family not to have had the flu shot this year, and after watching him suffer, I'm kicking myself. I had every intention of getting it done, but things kept getting in the way.

We opted to not get the shot. So far have survived several trips to a packed Costco and Home Depot lol. I don't want that crap/shot in my system thank you very much.

We don't get the flu shot either and we've also managed to avoid the flu (knock on wood).
