Tea Party/Libertarian/Ron Paul/Open Carry supporters are increasingly confronting police in Texas. These conservative activists are following police with cameras and rifles strapped over their shoulders. Based on the cited article these activists are looking to catch police misfeasance and brutality. These activists are becoming a greater concern to the police as they appear to be becoming more aggressive.

We just had a string of threads how Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York was not supportive of the police and that his words may have encouraged a madman (no matter how unfair that assessment was) now we have certain right-wing activists confronting police in Texas. Should Ron Paul or Rand Paul condemn these individuals? Does the right approve or disapprove of these conservative activists?

Are they calling for the death of cops? Physically threatening them in any way? If not, why should there be an issue?

Exactly. It is the leftie types that do that.

I didn't see the threat.

Everyone was on equal ground.

This is not the point. These conservative activists are becoming more aggressive and interfering with police activities. If these were left wing groups, blacks, Muslims, the right would be going nuts. These groups are getting every bit as vocal about police brutality as the far left and every bit as disdainful. Do you condemn them or not?

I think the better question is this: Why is it the Black Panther Party (original, not the new ones who are idiots) "policed the police" and the liberal media and leftists called them heroes...libertarian white guys in Texas do the same thing, and they're called "gun crazed right-wing hacks"?

And they are doing nothing wrong. Following a cop and taking pictures is fine, even while armed. There is a difference between that and targeting a cop who isn't doing anything wrong.

And why is the media mostly silent about these heroes solving the problem of police misconduct themselves? If these were liberals in California, they would be hailed as heroes.

From the article:

Quote:
The activists, who often identify themselves as Ron Paul libertarians or members of the Tea Party, say they've picked up the mantle of civil rights activists protesting alleged police brutality against unarmed black men in Ferguson, Missouri, and Staten Island, New York.*

They've even taken up the mantra of shouting 'hands up, don't shoot' and 'I can't breathe.'

Cops say the activists have, at times, been a threat to officers who are just going about their jobs.

Several members of the group have been arrested for various charges - disturbing the peace, and police fear that their interactions are becoming increasingly hostile.

It seems to me what you are saying is that when the right wing follows the police and puts them in possible danger it is okay, but if it is a left-wing it is not. Not exactly a compelling argument. As far as the media making them heroes if they were left wing is just plain nonsense.

If your tried any harder to spin and twist this thread to link these guys to conservatives on the right due to your own political bias you would have an aneurysm.

These guys are following cops, taking pictures and making a point.

When you guys on the left follow the police you execute them in their cars while they eat lunch or you point your gun at them in the parking lot of a gas station.
