Why is it if there is a major snowstorm people on the right use that isolated example as proof that global temperatures aren't rising? We are in an ice age right now :-P. The last glaciation ended about fifteen thousand years ago, but this is still part of an ice age. Global warming means global temperatures, not regional ones. Believe it or not just because the temperature rises doesn't mean snow isn't still going to hit sometimes. It's not a quick process and is something that we likely won't see the full effects of in our lifetime.
Could be the same reason that AGW believers use a heat wave as proof temps are rising?
Last week we were supposed to get 6 inches, then it was 4, then it was 2-4. We ended up with a dusting. Weather and climate science is mainly guesswork.
It's January....it's usually cold in the northern hemisphere in January.
Just like it's generally hot in July.
Lefties started the "big storm" crap years ago....every major weather pattern was turned into "proof" that global warming was factual.....now, we sane people simply poke the GWNJ's in the eye every time there's a snow storm.
Let me know when algore starts selling off his ocean front properties.
What are you talking about? This is just a snowstorm, de Blasio isn't saying this is proof of global warming, just that New Yorkers should be prepared cause it looks like it will be bad. Speaking of which, for January it has been extremely warm in the Northwest when it should be mild to cold and wet right now.
He's probably doing a "wink wink" to his buddy death to cops protestors to let them know they will be able to cause problems this week because emergency devices will be busy.
He's probably just upset that he's going to be seeing a lot of white for a few weeks.
