It's amazing to me that people say health insurance equates to health care.....

Please tell me why or better yet, how?

No, being forced to purchase a product from a private company does not equate to health care.

Following the same philosophy used by teachers unions, all teachers are equivalent in terms of value and quality, here we have all medical care is equal in terms of value and quality. No matter you have to break a relationship with a doctoor you trust, any ole doctor or PA or intern or RN will do just as well.

Blue pil, red pill speech by obama shows he is cluesless re medicine.

Most Republicans and conservatives don't have a concept of health insurance since they depend on Medicare, Tricare, VA, and private plans that have an actuarial level of at least 80%. That leaves Democrats, Independent, and a few Republicans that actually buy insurance on the open market. That's about 18 million Americans who actually have an idea of what health insurance actually costs. A few of them are Republicans...most are not.

I'm as confuse as you are Ed, I don't know whether Medicare, Tricare, or VA should be the first payer? Isnt life a *****. Darn those people on the ACA they have to pay deductibles and there is no confusion.

So my son had a siezure a few months back.

After insurance i owe $2400. Thats 2/3 of original bill

I applied for financial hardship from hospital. They cut another 1/3 off original bill. Now i owe $1200.

So when looking at hardship info i notice it says if you have no insurance they will cut your bill in half. So why am i paying $700 a month? If the bill would be same or less if i had no insurance.

Math

$3600/2 is $1800 minus $700 for that month is $1100 bill. For 30 mins in emergency room with no real tests.

Or $2400 after insurance pays and then $1200 after hardship.

Nice job obama! That really is a fix of the problem!

ummm, farmers and sole proprietors and small shopkeepers and the self-employed buy insurance in the individual market. They most definitely are the makers...Republicans, generally. Not takers, who are usually Democrats. You are wrong, Borrego.

Well, health care is the care you receive... in regards to your health. The clue is in the title on that one.

Same with the second actually. So long as you have an understanding as to what insurance is, the term 'health insurance' should be relatively straightforward. I could say 'health care insurance' if it's easier, and it would have the same meaning.

Health insurance is meant to be a way for someone to pay less out of pocket to receive healthcare. They aren't the same. But there is a connection between the two. Health insurance, in theory, makes the healthcare you receive considerably cheaper without affecting the quality. So in a way, health insurance sort of equal healthcare, in that it makes the care more accessible. But they are not the same. If you have health insurance, but don't know how to get to a hospital, the arrow through you thigh is going to kill you. If you're at a hospital with an arrow through your thigh, a doctor can help you out, but there's gonna be a hefty bill that you alone must pay. Now, if you're in the latter situation, and have health insurance, this is ideal. Because you can have the insurance company pay the bulk of the bill, so long as your insurance covers obscure archery related accidents used to describe ridiculous scenarios on an internet forum, and you will be able to stop at Best Buy and get yourself playstation on your way home from the hospital with all the money you saved because you had insurance.
