If that's what it takes to get American children to actually pay attention in grade school and high school, sure, let them be displaced.

It'd be swell if American children were to take up the torch and carry it forward, but it doesn't look like that's happening.

I have zero patience for the young people who refuse to work throughout their young lives, and then they wonder why the Asians are running away with all the good jobs.

In many cases tuition/room and board while studying abroad is cheaper than a person's college in The US.

Spending money and travelling is what eats up your money.

As I said in my original post, it's no longer "politically correct" to discuss IQs, but studies do show that Asians - on average - score about 10 points higher than European Caucasians.

Studies aren't stereotypes.

Even when you don't agree with them.

Being a good guest when you are in somebody else's country is not that unreasonable of an expectation. When I lived in Germany, I attempted to speak German whenever possible and to be respectful of my host country. I was not a citizen, but I understood that Germans found it rude when Americans did not even try to learn German. Many Germans spoke English, but they appreciated the fact that I spoke German (even poorly) when I interacted with them.
The thing is, the OP has failed to put forth a convincing argument that Chinese immigrants are flaunting a culture contrary to American sentiments. Oh they like to flaunt wealth? That's pretty American to me. They like education? Again, American. They like being wealthy? American capitalism at its finest. The OP just feels discomfort at seeing signs in different languages. Solution? Learn that language so you can understand those signs! Problem solved. It just seems the OP is unwilling to step outside his comfort zone, like so many 'real Americans'.

As far as the English thing, English is our de facto language. It's not our de jure language. There is no law requiring it. It's just one of those things that if you want to prosper in this country, you pick it up. English is the global language of business. Chinese immigrants speaking Chinese here in the states, Latinos speaking Spanish here in the states, etc, there's nothing wrong with that. Most immigrants end up bilingual, anyway. English is not under assault. If anything, if 'real Americans' learned a second language, they might actually improve their marketability. Why not learn Cantonese and make big money in Hong Kong? Play their game instead of whining on a message board.

Mandating that people only speak English in this country isn't demanding respect. It's an irrational reactionary emotion to feeling threatened. America's diversity, to include language, is what separates us from Germany, France, etc. Being a 'good guest', therefore, cannot be tied to language. We have no official language! Just a real popular one! So judge these Chinese immigrants on their behavior, not on something as trivial as language. They'll pick up English long before you pick up Chinese. As of now, their English is probably better than your Chinese. And regarding their behavior, Chinese immigrants are some of the hardest working, educated people in this country. Stop demonizing them as Commies, spies and spend thrifts.

Unfortunately foreign students pay higher tuition and are therefore more desirable.

This post just reeks of jealousy. How does 'them' driving Porsches or BMWs personally affect you? It shouldn't. And if it affects you that bad, I say you have some pretty thin skin. They're college students in a foreign land. You don't think they work hard to study here and stay here? Why don't you go study at East China Normal Univesity and get back to us? You cannot definitively say they haven't earned those cars; you're just stereotyping. And so what if they didn't? There are plenty of 'American' college students here who flaunt their parents' wealth. If anything, that makes them more 'American' than you want to let on.

Bottom line, it just seems that you're afraid of change. They're not like you and you want them to leave. Tough luck. That's the story of America right there. Immigrants come here to make a better life, bring their culture/traditions with them, and these get added to the 'American' culture at large. This IS 'American' culture. So in the meantime, why don't you try to bridge the gap instead of stewing in paranoia? Talk to them. Learn some Chinese phrases. Invite one to dinner or something. I'm willing to bet any such exchange would be beneficial to both parties.
I agree with much of what you say. But I don't think its a conservative rant. It is liberals who are against those who drive luxury cars even driving cars itself. you made a valid point that these people worked hard to deserve what they have. In fact that is true for most successful people liberals have come to deeply resent. The op is yet another example of liberal bias.

Actually, wouldn't that be them buying our resources with our own money? To trade natural resources for "stuff" is a really bad deal, even if they bring some of the money back. The Chinese tend to take over resources and then fill the labor force with Chinese nationals. Look at what they've done to mining resources in Africa, and the absolute devastation to the land once they're done with it.

With that said, here's a good explanation of the Idaho conspiracy debunked:
Did China Really Buy the State of Idaho? | Skeptoid

I'm more concerned about Russian soldiers on US soil, and the DoD has confirmed this. Though, I'm not so sure if this still flys with the invasion of Ukraine.

China is so dependent on offshore resources, markets and investors to keep its economy growing that it can’t run the risk of really scaring its trading partners.
