(2.961 Billion...with a B) and whoa!!!!! 1/2 of the medical, financial, legal community, Real Estate, Hollywood and wall street communities would go bananas....daaaaahlinguh.......any candidate that came out against such a move would find their war chests full the next day......

There are just some lobbies you can't f with....this is one of them....oil is probably ahead of them as it anything related to wall street.....

Besides, it's like being in the Middle-East's backdoor....it gives us airbases and a reliable allies in the region...handy if Iran or any of the other's decide to play "whack a mole" with our arsenals.....

Too much influence, too much pull in Washington....they have it, most don't. As for us Catholics, lapsed and otherwise, despite the fact we are 1 out of 5 walking the planet (scary, huh?) we are constantly turning the other cheek (although some priests give that a whole new meaning and we are as pissed as you) we spend the rest of our time in a defensive posture.....shame we don't believe in an "eye for an eye" like SOME religions....Christ, we could be like the Chinese....we could walk in.....of course, that means draining pretty much most of South America but, hey, they know a thing or two about hopping a freight train.......tough logistics....

Hey, at least we have the hottest chicks....take a look at those South American beauties!!!! Makes you want to dump the wife and kids and find a Barrega or whatever the hell her name is....in fact, find two just in case one wears out on the way....makes you wonder why the priests in South America didn't pursue them? Then again....

I like the concept of peace above all but, once in a while you have to K-9 if not, nuclear. Just sayin'
Why do you hate Jews??

Regardless of that, I still feel that given the fact that we are across the ocean from than reason, we should take a more neutral stance on affairs in that region. If they are so touchy about their religon, why poke the bear?

WHY ISRAEL?

Interesting Difference
...
  • In Israel, Muslims can freely denounce Israel, in public protest.
  • In Muslim countries, few, if any, can freely support Israel, in public protest.
  • In Israel, people can worship as they wish, in public, with the clergy of their choice.
  • In Muslim countries, one can’t practice non-Muslim religions, without paying a special tax (jizya), nor in public, nor with clergy, if not banned outright or expelled from the country.
  • In Israel, women are not inferiors, under the “protection” of their menfolk, but go about armed, with military grade rifles.
  • In Muslim countries, women are subjects of their menfolk, submissive and unarmed, at risk of brutal retaliation for disobedience.
...
Israel May Not be Perfect

In this day and age, Israel is the safest place for an Arab to be in the Middle East.
...
What about that premiere Islamic nation - Saudi Arabia?
Is it morally superior? Progressive? Liberal? Tolerant?
No.
...
Crime to have a bible in Saudi Arabia?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom...n_Saudi_Arabia
“... the public practice of non-Muslim religions is prohibited. Saudi Arabia prohibits public non-Muslim religious activities. Non-Muslim worshipers risk arrest, imprisonment, lashing, deportation, and sometimes torture for engaging in overt religious activity that attracts official attention.”
“... Proselytizing by non-Muslims, including the distribution of non-Muslim religious materials such as Bibles, is illegal.”
“... The Government does not permit non-Muslim clergy to enter the country for the purpose of conducting religious services, although some come under other auspices and perform religious functions in secret.”
But
“Everyone” knows that Israelis are Zionists, murderers, liars, and scoundrels! Especially since the Muslims repeatedly tell us so. [Sarcasm flag off]

Yet the Israelis aren’t enslaving others, beheading kafirs, executing apostates, stoning victims, attacking all other religions except their own.

Who said I hate them? I don't hate them at all. I just recognize their power base. It's not a criticism but, actually an acknowledgement to what they have achieved as a people. You have it all wrong. To not understand their success is ignorant. Most have worked hard under tough circumstances to achieve what they have. The fact remains they carry a great deal of influence.

You notice I called out big oil. Don't hate them either. Without them our economy wouldn't exist. For those that criticize them, try doing so on an empty tank.

Final thought. Have you ever seen ANY politican, right or left in the HUGE voting states of NY, Florida, and Illinois make that stance of letting Israel go on their own? Won't happen or, they lose the primary or general election. Those states have high Jewish populations. Same with Maryland. Fatal mistake to go against them. Same fatal mistake can be said going to Ohio and Michigan and touting anti-union....good luck with that.....

MohAmmed's counterpart is Moses,not Abraham.

And Moses makes Mohammed look like a schoolboy.

We also could have brought the displaced Jewish population here after WW2. That probably would have upset a lot of the bible thumping Christians though.

9/11 is what made conservatives crazy about Israel. Prior to 9/11, you had a lot of pro-Arab (Gulf Arabs not Levantine Arabs though) Republicans like Brent Scowcroft, James Baker III, and arguably George HW Bush. Before anyone mentions the 3 billion dollar aid to Israel, that was a precondition of Israel signing the Camp David Accord. Basically it is a bribe telling Israel not to go to war with Egypt and Jordan (notice that both Egypt and Jordan get aid to the tune of 2 and 1 billion respectively). Republicans used to have a far more diverse view regarding the Middle East but the more moderate Republicans (in terms of the Middle East) lost favor after 9/11 and the fanatically Zionist neo-conservatives gained prestige. Basically, Republicans aren't really pro-Israel with the exception of the religious fanatics, they are more anti-Arab and anti-Muslim than Zionist.

The bear does not need poking, it will devour the non-bears regardless.

Many Ex-Muslims live under death threat from practicing Muslims in America.
Molly Norris is still under hiding from Muslims, right here in America.

Here is an Ex-Muslim Pakistani American telling her fellow Americans on the Left to wake up to the bear:

The POTUS at the time did raise the limits for Jews to emigrate to the US to around 100,000 in one year. But also put into place restrictions/hurdles for future years that spread it out over the following ten years that made it a royal PITA.

The end of schindler's list shows this pretty well.
Millions?? Try less than 300,000 that survived from Europe. Only around 100,000 went to Israel from Europe after WW2. The rest were already there for generations. The largest influx of Jews came from Arab countries during the 1950's when they were evicted from their homes.
