"Conservatives... Whats with the obsession with protecting Israel?"
Oh, so now it's just conservatives? I don't think so, but whatever. How many allies do we have in the Middle East? Egypt, Jordan and Israel? How many can we count on? In the future, which one will always be there for us? Come on, this isn't rocket science.

Why would we need to "count on" any Middle Eastern nation for anything?
We don't need anything from that region but oil. And we can purchase it without having a single ally in the region.
there is a big difference in what I said and what you said.
how about you give me a country we overthrew and lets talk about how "Free" they were.
Oh I see...so the United States should judge the "degree" of freedom in a representative democracy and THEN ascertain whether or not it's okay to overthrow it regardless of what the citizens of said nations think...huh?

You have an extremely narrow scope of foreign policy.
There is a long list of common goods that are imported from Israel. Declaring no use for Israel is fine, but you must walk the walk and not use or partake in any exports that come from Israel.

P.S. There is more to the Middle East just oil.
Israel ranks 21st in goods exported to the United States. Probably nothing we don't get elsewhere. Besides, who said anything about trade sanctions? I just feel it's in our best interest to take a hands off military approach in regards to their national defense.
