Taken at face value, sure, those words are nice. But when you consider the fact that he subscribes to an ideology that does the exact opposite of what he's saying, the words don't mean a whole lot.
It's Liberal run institutions that censor speech. Liberty University on the other hand, a Conservative college, invited Bernie Sanders to speak, and made attendance mandatory.
Do you have any idea the diversity of speakers a typical college invites, as well as diversity of views?
The only reason colleges are seen as liberal is because the folks recognize the status quo isn't working. Conservatism, by definition, is rooted in the idea of protecting the status quo.

That may be a definition of conservatism, but the last thing today's conservatives want is to protect the status quo. We conservatives want to go back to what actually worked.
"Diversity of views"? Only if one view is more liberal than another view.

There are a lot of liberals. Some of them (just like conservatives) are bound to hold otherwise authoritarian views. What makes you think that Obama doesn't believe in free discourse of opinions because there are some liberals that take things too far?

You nailed it. Going back to what worked, like massive government war spending to finally end the Great Depression, child labor, dangerous working conditions for minimal pay, toxicity in our waterways, soil, and air, not to mention slavery, white supremacy, male dominance, gay oppression...
I don't think liberalism works by any means but let's not pretend the old days were that good.
don't bet the farm on it..."if you like your doctor........"
That was only not the case of doctors who dropped insurances which many did BEFORE ObamaCare was even on the floor of the houses of congress. Nice try, maybe next time you will succeed instead of resorting to a strawman built upon conservative talking points.
Doesnt change the fact that your insurance company could have simply added a feature to your plan instead saying the plan no longer exist. its not like the plans are rare animals that die out, its a set of guidelines and the company simply choose to rename it .
Same goes for doctors who simply choose not to keep on patients.
Adding a feature to a plan changes a contract and thus no longer allows the original plan to exist.
Obama's been saying that since before he was elected. Why do so many divert every topic into race?
Actually Obamas actions, indicate just the opposite. The "welfare" mentality, the running around blaming others for a lack of opportunity and then attacking law enforcement etc every chance he gets.

have you even taken basic legal classes?
in addition to what pghquest noted, there are over 21,000 pages, not regulations PAGES, of regulations that say otherwise. before obamacare, if you needed to add something to your plan it was as simple as talking to your insurance agent. after obamacare it cancel your existing policy, and find a new one that does everything the government wants it to do, regardless of the fact that half the things in the policy are things you dont need but you pay for them anyways, and still be affordable.
