Hajj stampedes with hundreds of deaths has occurred dozens of times over the years. Sometimes the dead have totaled more than a thousand. Must be a logistic nightmare to deal with that many dead bodies with a couple million people crowded into such a small area. I imagine that the Saudis have come up with a workable plan considering this is a not infrequent occurrence. I have been told Muslims believe that to die in Mecca is a privilege and to be buried nearby is an honor. The Mecca burial grounds must contain many thousands of bodies.
