So you are saying that Bush was powerless and impotent to change the rules that Clinton put in place, especially in light of the ominous intelligence?

Bush need not shut down the entire airline industry (unless he is a bigger idiot than we thought). There are many other options Bush could have taken such as: alerting airlines, putting armed marshals on flights, increasing screening for passengers, investigating those who were here on Visas and taking flight lessons, etc....... What did Bush do? He vacationed at his ranch.

"Going against the wishes of Republicans, Democrats on Wednesday released the full transcript of nine hours of closed-door testimony from a former top aide to Hillary Clinton, a day before Clinton’s appearance in an open hearing on Capitol Hill.

The 307-page transcript from Cheryl Mills’s September testimony contains no evidence that Clinton mishandled the U.S.’s response to the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi, Libya, according to Democrats on the select committee investigating the incident. Instead, Clinton was “very engaged” in responding to the crisis, Mills said, according to the new transcript."

Dems release Benghazi transcript on eve of Clinton

And Senate Democrats have sent a letter to the Republican National Committee (RNC) asking that it reimburse the American taxpayers for any money spent on the Benghazi committee, stating that it's "only fair since the so-called committee is clearly a Republican political organization."

Next, they should demand an ethics hearing.

Poor Gowdy is seeing that his carefully crafted plan to control the narrative and just release what he wants to release has slipped away. Everyone knows his committee is a political hack job now and that he's the lead political hack. He's been whining to the press about how hard it is to have his character denigrated. Reading that was the best laugh I've had in a long time.

He wanted to shield Cheryl Mill's testimony because it was classified but there were people at the hearing without security clearances and he emailed her testimony over an unsecure server, wasn't that the issue they had with Hillary?

Letter to committe chairman below:

Quote:
After the nine-hour interview of Ms. Mills concluded on September 3, 2015, you left the room and announced to the assembled reporters that you planned to keep the transcript shielded from public view. You stated: “The Members of the Benghazi Committee on our side are going to treat the conversation as if it were classified.”

This assertion made little sense since you and other Republicans, as well as your own staff, took numerous steps prior to, during, and after the interview that would have violated security rules had any classified information been discussed.
.................................................. ......
In addition, your staff emailed a copy of the transcript to our staff on our unclassified email system which, ironically, is precisely what Republicans have accused Secretary Clinton of doing. The difference is that your own staff transmitted Ms. Mills’ interview transcript on an unclassified email system after you declared publicly that you were treating it as classified.

Finally, just hours after the interview concluded, Select Committee Member Lynn Westmoreland appeared on Fox News and freely discussed numerous details from the interview. Despite your direction to treat the interview as classified, he emphasized that he was providing first-hand information “[a]ccording to what we heard today.” As he explained, “I’m just telling you what they said.”

Question Benghazi hearing for Hillary starting. How do you think she did?

What do you think about the hearing and how she performed?

Since she literally just sat down, there is no way of knowing. I guess this is a 'prospective' thread?

Anyway, it is my understanding that she sat down well without falling.

5 minutes in and Gowdy is just rambling on, can we just get to the questions and stop with the political speeches. This isn't the first hearing, I think people know the reason for the hearing.

I say it will be over one hour before they get to any meaningful questions.
