No, I would respect him for actually standing up for whatever it is he's supposed to believe in. I don't have to agree with a leader to respect him or her. Just show me you have passion for something enough to do something about it.
I think Obama has the attention span of a 5 year old and he's just bored with the issue and wants to just leave it as is.
Oh, he wanted to leave, he gave us a date to leave, said it will not change, it was the coalition, the Afghan government, and the military experts forcing Obama's hand. If we were to just leave it up to Obama, he'd pull our forces out on schedule and there would be another round of Obama and his admin back slapping each other for "ending the war."
The next Prez is going to have to solve much more than that. He's going to be busy undoing a lot of the damage done by this administration if we are lucky.

If young American servicemen weren't dyeing in Afghanistan, this would be comical... Military experts advise don't force the presidents hand. They advise. As president, he could pull our troops out immediately. He has opted not to. Nobody has "forced his hand".
