Nowhere in the constitution is the govt authorized to regulate/restrict the growing, sale or consumption of any plant.
It's alarming a cop would be so ignorant of the powers outlined in the constitution.
Back to school officer.
None of the prohibitionists on here can explain why the amendment process wasn't followed for federal prohibition as it was with alcohol, and then the amendment process to later repeal it. I guess when you're getting your palms greased by special interests back then as well as today, then it's OK to do an end around the Constitution! Just spout a bunch of fear mongering propaganda and waa-laa, it's illegal! How convenient, huh?
I smell a rat when one of the most outspoken supporters of legalization claims to have voted against legalization
It was a bad bill! And I'm not interested in giving a select few investors along with their political buddies that much control! I'm willing to wait, because at some point prohibition will end, and therefore you'll have to find something else to get all up in arms about.
The constitution doesn't say murder is illegal either.
So you agree, the constitution does not authorize the fed govt. to prohibit the sale, consumption and growing of plants.

I think you are confused about the Constitution and other laws. The Constitution calls for government to insure domestic tranquility and authorized Congress to create laws to make it possible. This includes banning plants like opium, coca and pot plants.

Funny. The "law" (The Marijuana Tax Stamp Act of 1937) against pot plants to "insure domestic tranquility" has had EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE EFFECT. Just like the prohibition of alcohol had the opposite effect than intended, and promoted crime.
The thickness and size of the blinders you are wearing is stunning.

Nope Finn! You can't go through the amendment process for prohibiting one substance like alcohol, and then turnaround and not do the same for others! Can't have it both ways! Maybe prohibitionist and authoritarian types who seek to intrude on people's individual liberties are OK with going around the amendment process, but those who support individual liberties are not. Too many people have been hoodwinked and too many lives ruined due to prohibition. Why are you interested in continuing policies that destroy people's lives and harm more innocents than the actual substance itself?

Yep, and it only brings the likes of Al Capone and those who run the cartels in Mexico into power.

the drug war is unconstitutional no matter how you parse it.
So in your mind ()
Domestic tranquility= Banning plants, cavity searches, no knock warrants, prison, fines, seizure of assets, militarization of police depts....
You are full of it.
