Well, I was thinking the United States, but . . . Hmmm.
Is it something not stated at this point?
I asked regarding Europe because you mentioned it in the second half of your question. As far as the United States, I believe some liberals have an honest concern for the people who are coming to the States either legally or illegally. Democratic politicians however seem to be looking at nothing more than the endgame of increasing their voter base. As of now, Hispanics tend to vote Democrat and the Democrats are doing everything they can to increase their numbers, including illegals giving birth to legal citizens who will one day be allowed to vote. Its not rocket science.

Why didn't liberals attempt to increase LEGAL immigration of Hispanics?
The problem is the conservatives' "solution" is utterly ridiculous and unworkable. Liberals came up with better solutions and the conservatives don't like it.
.
As others have already said...votes. Like a rich old white woman REALLY gives two sh*ts about illegal immigrants and their issues. She just needs theirs and their families votes to get into office.
I would like an answer to this one as well? What solution? Amnesty? That is hardly a solution.
