Bottom Line - kids are more likely to kill kids, than bad guys

nice cherry pick though
Kids at that age (1-4) are beaten and strangled to death at a significantly higher rate, so much so that firearms deaths caused by them in the news are basically the TOTAL firearms causes deaths in that category. In fact only 84 children 1-16 died from a firearm in 2010, compared to 1,771 in motor vehicle accidents. I've dealt with enough dead kids to say that the two most dangerous things in a house are: water and parents medications.

I trust with your reasoning you are a proponent of the Eddie Eagle or equivalent firearms safety course being added for ALL children and ALL schools nationwide.

Chicago has some of the strictest gun control laws yet for some reason is always in the top 10 cities for gun deaths each year!
Homes schooling wouldn't necessarily make him more mature.
Good for the kid. Most kids down south start hunting early, its what more than likely allowed him to handle the weapon under stress, not home schooling. Just weapons safety course and hunting safety course, required down here for his age.
This happened right down the road from my in laws house too.
Chicago, Detroit, for example have serious gang/drug issues. It is what it is and wont change anytime soon.

That's pretty much the status quo around here. Some anti-gun person throws out blatantly false hyperbole, and vanishes when facts arise.

They won't be back in this thread.

Nice data though, although the ~80ish deaths per year are for the 0-4 age range, not 0-16.

You should know why blacks historically come from more poverty.

I'm hoping you feel a little sheepish for what you wrote and that there's hope for you to learn something.
Crime also comes from lack of parenting. And many black kids are raised with only one parent.

1-4: 39
5-14: 142

Homicides (other):
<1: 270
1-4: 298

Ah, I used the WISQARS database for gun deaths, all causes to get the 80ish figures. You're looking at homicides only. We've got the full picture between both sets of numbers.

Either way, toddler deaths are in the double digits per year, and yet they're talked about in the same breath as "30,000 gun deaths per year epidemic", like it's an equal part. It isn't.

When we figure out a way to have unlimited money to throw at every problem in America, maybe then we can think about how to spend more money to curb gun violence. Until then, we should prioritize to get the best 'bang for the buck'. Medical malpractice, obesity, alcohol, etc. All of those mortality rates are preventable, and we could save a heck of a lot more lives (yes, even children).

I wish the gun control crowd would stop pretending it's about saving lives. It clearly isn't.

Do you actually believe this? Or are just posting it to pull peoples chains?

Democommies want VERY BADLY to do a massive gun-grab. One of the reasons for the GG, to protect people such as the home-entry specialists in this OP.

Ganking peoples chains, NOPE.......I mean exactly what I write.

Democommies are going to HAPPILY bring-in 200k 3rd-world Jihadists.
