Mass extinctions occur over millions of years, btw.

Not like tomorrow or anything.

Update 6/22/2015: On Friday, a study published by experts from Stanford, Princeton and the University of California-Berkeley declared the world’s vertebrates are going extinct 114 times faster than the natural rate of extinction, according to the Huffington Post.

The researchers write that “these estimates reveal an exceptionally rapid loss of biodiversity over the last few centuries, indicating that a sixth mass extinction is already under way.”

Last year, we published the following list of every animal that went extinct in the last century. Updating it today to highlight the most recent study and news that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service have declared the eastern cougar extinct. And we’re dangerously close to losing 13 more animal species.

Take a look at our post from last year, and keep in mind the words of the study’s lead author, Gerardo Ceballos: “If it is allowed to continue, life would take many millions of years to recover and our species itself would likely disappear early on:”

Amiright?
and dont forget that some countries will be exempt from all those regulations and taxes.

your problem is that you are spouting doom and gloom, and we have gone through this hundreds of times. oh look we are killing the planet with CO2, lets cut CO2, but we will exempt some countries from those reductions. oh look we are killing the polar bear, lets put it on the endangered species list, despite the fact that there are more now than in 1950. oh look mr farner, you killed a few mice, we are going to prosecute you for murder, unless you give us half your farm and half your money for the next ten years, even though you wont be able to continue your lively hood.

and that is the problem with all the doom and gloomers, they all want something done right now, and they dont care what it is, just do something. even if it is wrong.

I think I am going to go and extinguish my dinner, and maybe a bottle of beer.

So? The fittest will survive. Assuming the scientists are right but they are frequently wrong.

It's nice that you know how to quote things, but have you read and researched mass extinctions?

Now, scientists say, the Earth is on the brink of a sixth such “mass extinction event.” Only this time, the culprit isn’t a massive asteroid impact or volcanic explosions or the inexorable drifting of continents. It’s us.

“We are now moving into another one of these events that could easily, easily ruin the lives of everybody on the planet,” Stanford biologist Paul Ehrlich said in a video created by the school.

In a study published Friday in the journal Science Advances, biologists found that the Earth is losing mammal species 20 to 100 times the rate of the past. Extinctions are happening so fast, they could rival the event that killed the dinosaurs in as little as 250 years. Given the timing, the unprecedented speed of the losses and decades of research on the effects of pollution, hunting and habitat loss, they assert that human activity is responsible.

I just wanted to follow up on my other post about CO2 levels. We are killing the planet yet many do not even care to face these facts. Ignorance is bliss.
Colonize Mars since a Massive Meteor is possible as well as earthquakes, tsunamis, massive hurricanes and a large increase in dormant volcanic activity plus if we remove C02 then it is hard for plants and trees phytoplankton in the ocean to breath and well they help create O2 and the Ocean getting heated up by the sun and creating Rain which gives us a source of H20.

Only thing that would be out fault is already knowing both the earth and sun are going to go though some major changes and we missed the our window to really try and got off this planet and our solar system is done when the sun goes Red dwarf and we are a little to close as it expands and gets hotter with it boiling off all the water emitting massive amounts of radiation.

We are finding many new earth like planets that we just need to travel to them and it will be a fixer upper and never be exactly the same and by the time they mange to reach it they will be quite a few generations that lived on the ship during the trip.

Well please enlighten me stan4. I'm not against any new information or afraid to learn. Unlike some who just want to blindly believe in either group think or what corporations force feed some of the media.
