Basically we are being screwed by those who felt they were being screwed 40 years ago.
And then there were those individuals in the 60s who are today the Man--they took up running things (for better or for worse).

Those Millennials who continue to believe they are "special snowflakes"--like the 60s hippies that never grew up--will not be the individuals who step up to the plate to become the Man 25 years from now.

I work with a bunch of Millennials (and my daughter is one) who are quick and smart and tough--and on track to becoming the Man just as soon as the cycle turns to them.

I think the media paints a terrible narrative of millennials based off the unhinged ones on college campuses. Contrary to what some may think, there are a ton of well-raised, well adjusted millennials with values and common sense that will be doing just fine as the next leaders. Alot of the liberals of this generation that you see on the news will be turning traditional and/or conservative as time goes on and they gain experience and understanding of life. It happened to all the previous generations. Usually they don't get "it" until they have kids and their own careers. So cheer up and look on the positive side.

Anybody who isn't pulling their weight no matter what age or race or whatever should be put down. Humanely put down of course. If you're too old or have been on welfare and foodstamps for more than a certain period of time and cannot find a way to better yourself and become a productive member of society then you need to be out down. I also think abortion should be legal to the age of 2. Actually no age limit on abortion.
No more life in prison either, anything past what would normally be a 10 year sentence should be instantly euthanized. We could save so much money and dramatically improve QOL for many Americans if we implemented euthanasia laws and policies.

Oh yeah, and anyone who is not able to go to college and become an "educated person" should be put down as well. If we start with putting down the "uneducated" it will make things much smoother going forward.
There's some good conservative thinking. We should start with the boomers. If you're over 65 just fall on the sword already.

Yes. Five years ago, pundits were predicting that Millennials would never have the spending patters of earlier generations, as a specific example, that they would never be home buyers. Today, most home purchases are being made by Millennials. Took them a bit longer--the economy has been bad--but they've caught up.

Boomers experienced it as children, but the basis of the expansion had actually collapsed in the 60s (when the rest of the industrialized world had finally rebuilt after WWII) and economic contraction was in full swing in the 70s. Not many people seem remember the situation in the early 70s was so catastrophic that President Nixon had to order a national wage and price freeze to get the free-fall under control...image Obama attempting something like that.

But quite a bit of economic plate spinning in the 70s--not to mention millions of wives going to work to double the number of labor hours available to the average family--preserved the appearance of economic stability through the 80s and 90s until the plates started to fall.

Why? MOST people currently get back LESS than they paid into SS.

"As recently as 1985, workers at every income level could retire and expect to get more in benefits than they paid in Social Security taxes, though they didn't do quite as well as their parents and grandparents.

Not anymore.

A married couple retiring last year after both spouses earned average lifetime wages paid about $598,000 in Social Security taxes during their careers. They can expect to collect about $556,000 in benefits, if the man lives to 82 and the woman lives to 85, according to a 2011 study by the Urban Institute, a Washington think tank.

Social Security benefits are progressive, so most low-income workers retiring today still will get slightly more in benefits than they paid in taxes. Most high-income workers started getting less in benefits than they paid in taxes in the 1990s, according to data from the Social Security Administration."

Let's not discriminate...
If you are a deadbeat hack and can't cut it, it's over.
Shouldn't matter age or race or whatever the hell people like to associate themselves as these days.

Boomers claim they don't mind making sacrifices for the good of the country - figure we have to start somewhere.

Awesome

Yep, start at the people who actually worked all their lives, paid all their lives, and screw them so the government can spread THIER love via OPM to the younger people who want gifts and toys.

Isn't social justice wonderful?

Ignorance on display from an obviously young ideologue you are my misguided friend.

The one thing about age, nobody escapes it. Enjoy your youth while you have it, because it'll be gone shortly.
