Should she have to use the men's room? Under N.C. law she would.
If your somewhat mannish-looking friend hasn't had any problems, why does she need a law allowing anyone who self-identifies as a woman for the time being to be allowed in women's facilities? The point is that with these poorly written laws they leave open loopholes for actual peeping tons and predators.

According to HB2 everyone will have to use the restroom according to the gender on their birth certificate. My friend was born with male equipment, and she is still pre-op because of the enormous cost of having the operation. She would be forced into the men's room in North Carolina, even though she has used the women's facilities in South Carolina for ten years without incident.

The law has nothing to do with gender, and everything to do with curtailing human and civil rights.

This won't bother me just as long as I can take my hubby into the restroom with me. Why not, he can use the next stall and no waiting for me.

I'm female, so if the person has female genitalia, no. Do you have ANY idea how different those of the same anatomical gender can look?

Seriously? Look around you. Fat, skinny, short, tall, muscular, flabby... no need to go on.

I respect individuals' rights to not accept their birth gender and change that. BUT, don't cross single-gender multiple occupancy restrooms/changing/locker/shower/etc. rooms' limitations until you've COMPLETED sex-reassignment surgery.

Not true. Get an amended BC, just like those provided to millions of adopted children, and they're good to go. If millions of adopted children are able to get amended BCs, why can't only thousands of transgenders do the same?

So - How do you propose to find out whether the person has female or male genitalia?

Popcorn's almost ready. Standing by...

When the person's genitalia is exposed in multiple occupancy facilities in which various stages of undress is normal and expected (changing rooms, locker rooms, shower rooms, etc.), it becomes obvious. At that point, arrest the person with opposite sex genitalia and charge them with indecent exposure. Charge them with FELONY indecent exposure when it happens on school grounds and/or if minors are present. In either case, force them to register as the sex offenders they are everywhere they live, for life.

How many females do you know that look like Buck Angel? Don't try to tell me that you would not freak out if someone that looks fully male walked in to the restroom with you. Chances are that a TG person wouldn't change in front of you or shower in the open because of their own body issues, so you would never even see their genitalia only the rest of them that looks fully male.

Don't even try to tell me that you see this person as just another female.

Several states and other countries do not allow BC to be amended for change of gender.

How many females (and males, for that matter) look very different from each other? Seriously? You must live a VERY sheltered life with little to no contact with the real world.

Oh, wait... You're the same poster who "claims" that school students put their clothes on over their wet swimsuits from P.E. swim class and go to their next class.
