The Trigger-Happy Generation - WSJ

even bammers spoke out on the topic;

Quote:
“I’ve heard of some college campuses where they don’t want to have a guest speaker who is too conservative. Or they don’t want to read a book if it has language that is offensive to African Americans, or somehow sends a demeaning signal towards women,”

“I’ve got to tell you, I don’t agree with that either. I don’t agree that you, when you become students at colleges, have to be coddled and protected from different points of views.” President Obama, September 2015

ORGANIZED IDIOCY

99% of "educated" Americans cannot:
[] Accurately define the republican form of government,
[] Or its source (No, it's not the constitution)
[] Tell the difference between a dollar (coin) and a dollar bill (worthless paper)
[] Comprehend that Congress has no power to create money - only coin money (stamp bullion) or borrow money. It cannot create bullion.
[] Recall when America was NOT under a "State of Emergency."

Congratulations! You have now joined the ranks of the Fuddy-Duddy, who gripe about Kids Today and wax nostalgic about the Good Old Days. Humans have been griping about Kids Today forever. Fear not, soon enough Kids Today will be Fuddy-Duddies themselves and join us on the porch to grumble about the generation after them.

The rise of the snowflake generation has really only risen over the past 2-3 years. Even just a few years ago, people used to either argue, debate or ignore people with differing opinions. They would tolerate them, even if they strongly disagreed with them. That tolerance is now gone. Today college students aren't willing to even let people with other opinions speak. Conservative speakers and events are aggressively protested to the point police are required to keep people safe who just want to hear a right-wing speaker. College administrators are complicit with the oppression of events the snowflakes don't want on their campus.

They're not required to attend these events--they just can't stand that people with differing opinions even have the opportunity to exercise their free speech. College is the last place in our society where debate should be shut down. Academia used to be a place where you were challenged to think, but today the challenge is being able to express your opinions without being violently protested by Liberal students who can't stand the idea of someone with different ideas than them.

Colleges have become insulated from the real world, and as these snowflakes graduate and encounter employers, businesses and individuals who won't put up with their SJW nonsense, they're not going to handle it well.

This is very true and saddens me. We deal with conflict everyday. It's all around us and unavoidable. I be leave that our ability to deal with and face it is directly related to how we view ourselves and the works around us. We are all different and unique which means we all have varying ideologies. When we have low self esteem and don't not have confidence in our abilities we try to force others into our belief system with the intent to remove conflict. If everyone only believed like me there would be no conflict right? Wrong

Kiddos nowadays need to grow a set, get out there and talk about what they believe and allow others to do the same without getting their panties in a twist. Out of those conversations will come a middle ground. A path forward.

You think the inability to consider and tolerate different ideas to be solely a liberal/left-wing issue? That's ... well, hilarious.
